WHITE HAIR AND WALKING STICKS
The ancient rock band joins the stage
Its followers of certain age
With walking sticks and hair of white
Preparing for a raucous night
And when the band begins to play
Their heads like cauliflowers sway.

Great write, at least they got to the gig.
By coach, train, and zimmer frame - yup they got there. It was at Milton Keynes and I drove down the M 1 - about an hour and a quarter from home. Actually the Show was 'Crazy for You' - not rock at all - quite enjoyed it but not one of the best I've seen.
Oohh, grey and white hair makes one look distinguished I think. I'm a little grey around the gills myself! Did they rave all night?! Or take Horlicks or cocoa and be in bed by 9pm?
Afternoon matinee so I guess they were all in bed by 9 - I've been grey since mid-thirties but at least now I'm in my dotage I've still got a full head of hair - and, coincidentally, I've a hair appointment at 10 this morning so will be looking a bit better - currently it looks like a gooseberry bush.
Love the DAFFS ~ I'm a THIRD Welsh (and 1/3 Scottish 1/3 Irish and 1/3 English !) The last Beatles Tribute Band I heard were all White Haired or BALD ~ But then Sir Paul is 75 and John & George are both partaking of Glory ! Great poem based on an actual event ! Pleases check "Annie's Song for Angela ~ Thanks BRIAN
I'm Welsh, Irish and Dutch - us Brits are quite a bag of All-Sorts aren't we.
Yes Michael, even the Rock & Rollers are all turning grey now. Some have even past on to a higher stage to perform for a higher audience. I saw Gordon Lightfoot last fall, and he's not the young sprout he used to be. But neither am I. Love the poem and photo.
I do sometimes find it a bit sad when bands from the past start performing dressed in clothes from a past era complete with their wrinkles, bald heads and arthritic hips - somehow it takes away the glamour.
Michael,
It sounds like a great afternoon!
I enjoyed your great poem!
The only one I’ve met up close and personal of the Beatles is Sir Paul at Madison Square Garden thanks to a mutual friend of ours! I do enjoy their music!
Beautiful daffodils! I like the color contrast!

Thanks Laura - we now have quite a collection of different daffs coming into bloom - I'll try and photo them all and post them with future poems although I am running out of poems at the moment with little time to write - might just keep things going with a few short pieces.
Anything you share ( long or short) with us is a gift! Thank you!
Long live rock-n-roll.
