WHY did they nail Him to Calvary's Tree
WHY ~ Tell me why was He there ?
JESUS the Helper ~ the Healer ~ the Friend
WHY ~ Tell me why was he there ?
ALL my Iniquities on Him were laid
HE nailed them all to the Tree

HE paid the Ransom for ME
WHY should He love me a Sinner undone

A BLESSED EASTER to ALL ! This is my fave Easter Hymn
because it asks - and answers the question WHY the CROSS ?

Great write and I love Dali - have seen this painting in Glasgow and visited his museum at Figures - I am so envious of not only his painting skills but also his amazing mind.
THANKS MICHAEL ~ pleased you enjoyed it ! There is a story behind the inspirational Painting ! Glasgow Corporation paid £8000 for it ! The Spanish want it back because it is a major work by DALI and they have offered Glasgow over £1 million for it ~ but te SCOTS have said NO ! Yours BRIAN
A fine write Brian. Have you adapted/amended the actual hymn, or is this the original? I don't know the hymn - strangely? And yet there are hundreds I don't know even now.

I thought of me pork pies - porque and pourquoi. Well, they sound a bit like 'pork'! And is a perche a fish? I dunno these things, being un-cultured! I wish I would shut up sometimes. lol.

I am sure you enjoyed the Spanish (which is my and Angela's second language) it is very like Italian having the same Latin root for most words ! Thanks CHRIS ~ Pleased you liked it ! What did you think of the Spanish Translation ? Not word for word but the same sentiments ! Translating poetry from English to another LANGUAGE (and vv) is a black art and I usually stick to HAIKU (only 3 lines !) We are enjoying OXFORD and looking round some of the Colleges ~ I have links with BALLIOL ! Latimer & Ridley (Protetant Christian Martyrs) were "Burnt at the Stake" ouside Balliol College (1555) and there is a Brass Cross to mark the spot. If you stand on the CROSS ~ close your eyes and meditate ~ You can still feel the HEAT ~ Both Oxford & Cambridge are bursting with History ~ AMEN Love ANGELA & BRIAN XOXOX
