A fine write, and understanding and insight to see answers to your prayers Brian.
Some prayers are just daft: 'Make me win the lottery' etc, unless it's for some genuine purpose. Or 'Give me a hundred pork pies and bottles of sherry' (yes please! lol).

    • BRIAN & ANGELA

Thanks STEVE ~ Pleased you enjoyed it ! Prayer is a dangerous exercise because sonetimes the Answer is too hot to handle (Like ANGELA ~ Joke !) PORK PIES should be on the top of everybody's PRAYER LIST (except for MOSES) who got Popcorn ~ MANNA ~ instead ! Yours BFRIAN

    • sylviasearcher

I'm not sure my prayers are answered.

      But I am still here.

      I asked for purpose?
      I was given prose?

      I asked to understand?
      I was given journey?

      I asked to belong?
      I was given yearning?

I accept it all of course. I am sure it wasn't meant to be easy!

      • BRIAN & ANGELA

Thanks SYLVIA ~ The Good Book says "Search and you will Find" It does not say WHAT you will Find or WHY ~ WHEN ~ HOW or WHERE ~ But like you I still go on searching ~ Yours BRIAN !

      • Lorna

I love your wonderful view of life Brian! You've got the secret figured out! Make lemonade out of lemons and be grateful for what we have not for what we don't!

        • BRIAN & ANGELA

Thanks LORNA ~ You have hit on a great TRUTH there ! Often GOD gives us the incentive or the raw materials and expects us to get on with it ! LEMONS but not Lemonade ~ BRICKS but not a House ~ Pray for JOY and he gives us a BANJO etc etc ~ Prayerful HUGS ~ BRIAN @@@

          • Lorna

Xactly....... the less we expect someone else to fix our problems, the better.

            • Laura🌻

I like your lemonade comment, Lorna!
              I love lemonade...
and if you have an abundance of lemons, you can always make...limoncello!😉

            • Michael Edwards

I worked darn hard to make something of my life and got there through sheer hard work - the only thing I asked for was my wife's hand and she gave it - and we worked hard at our marriage and have never faltered.

              • BRIAN & ANGELA

Thanks MICHAEL ~ Hard work and self sufficiency are implicit in PRAYER ! See my answer to Lorna. In my experience GOD allows us the wherewithall to get on with the Job ~ A GARDEN but not Flowers ~ A JOB but not a Lottery Win ~ PORK & FLOUR but not a PORK PIE (in Steve's case) etc etc. It's all a question of perspective and the BIBLE is full of PROMISES ! ASK and You will receive ~ SEEK and you will find ~ KNOCK and it will be opened unto you etc etc ! Common sense really . If you had not asked your Wife you would not be happily MARRIED and if I had not asked ANGELA (and her DAD !) I would not be happily engaged. Of course there is a proviso the ANSWER can be YES ~ NO or WAIT ! Thanks for sharing BRIAN

                Mio Caro Amico BRIAN,
                A beautifully written poem!
We work very hard to achieve what we want! It’s a tough journey...but the rewards can be immeasurably satisfying!
                Un abbraccio e Baci...
                ~Laura~

                • BRIAN & ANGELA

GRAZIE LAURA ~ MIA CARA AMICA ~ Please you liked it ! Prayer is about NEEDS not GREEDS ! The Bible promises "God will supply all our NEEDS ~ according to His Heavenly riches through Christ Jesus our Lord ~ You will understand this of course ! When i pray about something it gives me Peace of Mind ~ AMEN Baci e Abbracci ~ BRIAN Uomo d'Ora XOXOX

                  • Laura🌻

                    Sì, hai ragione caro amico!

                  • Christina8

Very write, Brian. I hate it when people pray for outrageous things and then get angry when they don't get them. Great job--Sister Christina

                    • BRIAN & ANGELA

Gracias Mi Hermana en El Spirito ~ CHRISTINA ~ The BIBLE teaches GOD will supply our NEEDS (ONLY !) not our GREEDS ! But He works through situations ~ if we pray for Patience ~ God will place us in a situation where we need Patience etc ! What a privilege to carry EVERYTHING to GOD in PRAYER ~ AMEN Thanks for understanding ~ Tu Hermano en El Spirito BRIAN @@@@@@@

                    • Fay Slimm.

Whatever we ask some wonderful blessing always appears and not at times what we would have expected - love these few lines of reflection Brian.

                      • BRIAN & ANGELA

Thanks FAY for your very perceptive comment ! In my experience PRAYER does CHANGE THINGS ~ but not always in ways we expect ~ AMEN ~ Yours as always BRIAN

                      • Goldfinch60

Very good write Brian. One thing that I have always believed that if you ask for something in prayers the answer can sometimes be no as God has a better plan.
