With careless and wild eyes
you unleashed a big surprise
You didn't love me anymore,
I thought I knew what love was
But surely I didn't cause
I wasn't the one that you adored.
My mom cried more that I did
As I was the one that you got rid
Leaving permanent emotional burns,
You used me for my looks
Grasped in with your hooks
And yet for you I yearned.
You were just a bump in the road
To catch my prince I kissed a toad
I'm so grateful you set me free,
I know you're still alone now
Karma works that way somehow
But now I have my own family

THANKS CHRIS ~ Love the mixed Rhyme Pattern in this very retrospective Poem (16 or more years ?) Pleased Your MUM cried more than You ~ that's what Mum's are for ! When read out loud there is an edge to this Poem which suite the theme ! GONE & GONE FOR (YOUR) GOOD ! God has blessed with a loving Husband and Boy & A Girl a perfect genetic combination of all that is GOOD in YOU BOTH. In retrospect (as you indicate !) Mister Nomark ~ missed out on (the beautiful) YOU and the chance to be the FATHER of your CHILDREN ! Sometimes most Men are Fools ~ especially when it comes to LOVE ! Thanks for caring ~ hugs in the SPIRIT ~ Tus Hermanos ANGELA y BRIAN @@@@@@@
Glad you liked this poem....my muse took me there after reading a poem where one felt used. I thought, I'm glad I was let out of that relationship for this one!! Sometimes it's all for the better. Thanks for the read and the kind reply. Hugs in the spirit to you and Angela---Christina
Sometimes things work out which surprise us and later we see the sense and the blessings that true love can bring. A fine and honest write Christina.
Thanks Fay! I appreciate your kind reply. It took a while to see through the pain but I got something beautiful out it. That's what I wanted to get the brokenhearted readers to see in it.
