God Smiles
One day I imagined
That I could see God’s smile
And down the road of life
Happy people mile after mile
For he wants us all
To be happy and free
To love one another
Help each other endlessly
You know God smiles when
Its raining happiness
And everywhere I look
There’s an ecstatic smile
Cause just one smile
Can lead to another
To one and all
Sisters and brothers
I know you’re starting to now
From inside that feeling grows
Go ahead look in the mirror
You’ll see how it shows
You know God smiles when
Its raining happiness
And everywhere I look
There’s an ecstatic smile

I fully recognise and endorse the underlying message in this fine work.
Thank you Michael for recognizing and endorsing the message here.
A fine write AP. I dunno about 'raining happiness' as it's been tipping down for 2 whole days so far. lol. Some people look glum. I'm just glad it's not snow!
Yes orchi, glad its not snow. But...do you happen to have a boat?
There are good people in this world who help each other without thinking but we never hear of them.
That film show the power that music can have to make people happy, especially the children.
Great positive write.
Thank you Andy. On occasion I've heard of someone making a selfless act of compassion to help another and avoiding any recognition by quickly walking away. May God bless them for their kindness.
And I agree that the film shows that power that the music can have. I loved watching how it all grew out of what the one little girl did of putting money in the container. Then the musicians slowly coming out to join in the musical offering. And then the onlookers begin singing the words to the piece. It sounds very familiar, but I don't know the name of the music or who its by. I'm sure you'll know though.
It was the final movement of Beethoven's Symphony No 9 - The Choral Symphony.
Oh thank you Andy. I almost wanted to say it was Beetoven, but I was thinking Beetoven's 5th which sounded familiar. But I knew you would know who and what it was.
Your writing always brings a smile to my face AP 🙂
Thank you sky, but this one came by way of God's inspiration.
AP,
Your poem is beautiful! I enjoyed the video very much! ODE TO JOY, Beethoven’s Symphony No.9, is one of favorites! Every time I hear it, it makes me smile and makes me joyous! Thank you for sharing this awesome poem and clip!
~Laura~
Thank you Laura for reading, listening and your compliments. As I just told Goldfinch, I'd thought it was Beetoven's 5th, but wasn't sure. He corrected me that it was Beetoven's 9th symphony. I remember hearing the melody, but the video clip reminded me that there is lyrics to it too. It is a very beautiful and moving song. And the header image I chose because it reminded me of all the smiles spawned from the musicians gathering to play. And the singing was the icing on the cake.
lovely thoughts
Thanks Ron. Always a pleasure to hear your thoughts on my writes.
Lovely message AP - whether we believe in a god or not, this is what it is supposed to be!
Thanks Lorna for reading and your supportive compliment.
