Closed Door

Christina8

I think of you, I pray for you,

Your birthday is coming up soon

I still want to call you

I'm reminded of you by the simplest tune

In life we didn't always see eye to eye

And for that I have a lot to answer for

But at the end we were so close

And I thank God for opening that door

They say when one door closes another opens

Well, hers closed and I'm still here

Waiting for the next door to open

I feel like my path is still unclear

Thanks CHRIS for your riposte ~ sorry it was a little concise. I meant to comment in the elegant structure of your poem which complemented the Structure ! Balanced quatrains with a consistent (xaxa xbxb etc) rhyme pattern ! I was intrigued by the final line ~

I feel like my path is still unclear !

I've lost two mothers Christina, one birth and one adoptive. I never knew my birth mother, and my adoptive I always knew, but wasn't as close as I wish we could have been. And I suppose I'm at least partially to blame. But I miss them both more than any words can describe. After reading your poem here, I see your door is wide open for you and those who love you have faith that you'll find what you're looking for upon passing through that door.

Thank you so much for that insightful reply AP! I appreciate you opening yourself up to me. Thanks again!!
