EARLY MORNING

Michael Edwards

EARLY RISE

Misted mirror hangs

Reflected image unseen

Rivulets on glass.

Spring morning breaking

Sunshine on low distant hills

Long shadows emerge.

A journey well planned

Packaging now completed

Suitcase firmly closed.

Tickets in pocket

Nervous anticipation

Proceed to the desk.

Where ya going? Bognor by plane?! They say Margate's the No.1 dirge spot now. Apologies to folk living in either place. A fine write and pic Michael.

Not going anywhere by plane - spending a week at the airport.

Keep it to yourself Orchi or everyone will go there and spoil the peace and natural beauty of it all.

Wish I was going on a trip now! That is the most unusual flower I have ever seen! I'm heading straight off to look it up! Update: found them! Going to order bulbs for next year!

The airport is lovely at this time of year. Oops, now I've said it they will all want to go - as you say!

You can play 'Spot The Shabbiest Dressed' - a great game and there's always plenty of competitors.

These are strange flowers - not the most showy but so intriguing . don't forget the tickets - how many times do you check that you have them on the way to the airport?

                Michael,
I’m catching up on my reads! I’m going backwards...as life goes sometimes!

A super write...of course...and I love the pic of that unusual beautiful flower! I’ve never seen it before! Thank you for sharing!

So you’re going on a trip! Enjoy and be safe...and don’t forget those tickets!😉

                ~Laura~

Only a short trip within the UK (and not for a while yet anyway) although the poem was just something I wrote without a thought about my own impending break.

What the poem read like going backwards? Probably an improvement ! 🙂

                  • Laura🌻

                    Haha 🤣

I would love to go backwards to certain pockets of my past...especially to the age of 2-5 years old! Other special times...when I got married...when I gave birth to my two children... etc.

There are definitely pockets of my past I don’t want to go back to!
I’m sure this applies to many...not just me!
