The Cost of Nature.

Goldfinch60

We go through life wondering,

Wondering where we will get the money,

The money to make our lives easier,

To make our life happier.

But then I stop,

I stop and think.

Each day is there,

The life-giving water is with me,

The light of the sun in the day,

The beauty of the moon

In the glorious night,

Are always with me,

And for these

I need no money.

A fine write and clip Gold. I want to buy the moon. How much is it?!

    • Goldfinch60

It is there for everybody so it is not for sale, but it is everyone's for free.

      • orchidee

I wanted to buy it, or a bit of it. Well, it's made of cheese - yes?! I want a chunk of cheese from it.

        • Goldfinch60

The cheese is on sale at NASA, but it will cost you an arm, a leg, your singing voice, KP and the Dragon.

I love these sentiments! I so agree Andy - in fact we must be on the same track today because my entry - while not so beautiful - is all about "too much"... you often play music that I have "heard" but not really "listened to" or didn't take note of what it was..... this was one of those so I'm paying attention now!

          • Goldfinch60

Thank you Lorna. The track is the Intermezzo from Cavalleria Rusticana by Mascagni. We have seen the opera and it is wonderful.

Here is a link to the opera on you tube https://youtu.be/Oc58cIExp_U

THANKS ANDY ~ Love your choice of MUSIC and Cavalleria Rusticana by Mascagni (despite it's rather imposing title) is very soothing. Love the philosophy in the Poem ~ there are so so many things that "Money can't Buy" that t makes one wonder why it is so so important to most people ! I've never bought a lottery ticket or backed a horse and I have no stocks or shares and I have never been "interested" in money ! If i was I'd work for a Drug Company and not in Education ! OK I was born in 1983 into an Upper Working Class Family to caring Parents and I've never been out of work due to a good education and I've never been married or (accidentally) fathered any Children ~ so my needs have always been met ! I budget on MIKAWBERIAN Principles so I am never in debt ~ thank GOD. If we all lived within our means in the UK ~ it would be a much happier place. God promises to supply all my NEEDS ~ not my GREEDS ~ In essence if I hitch my Caravan near a Stream Nature provides all the basics Water ~ Oxygen ~ Heat & Light ~ Soil and Wood ~ all I need is a Rabbit ~ Edible Roots and something to cook them in. I smile a lot so people buy my CLOTHES PEGS and carved Wooden Animals etc ! I have RUSTIC (Rusticana) CHIVALRY (Cavalleria) ~ AMEN
            Thanks for sharing ~ Yours BRIAN ~ A Gypsy @ Heart !

                  Andy,
A great choice of music to accompany your wonderful poem! I enjoyed the read and the Intermezzo!

A message beautifully stated! The best things in life are always with us and they’re definitely not for sale!
