WORDS

Michael Edwards

WORDS

Words whether written;

words whether spoken;

words whether sung,

are still words.

: :

In conversation

Colloquial expressions

Familiar language

Parlous sophistries

Scribed by vengeful pens

Divergence of truths

Serene seduction

Luring words in siren songs

Subdued in falseness

                Michael,
                An impressive write! I’m fascinated by words! As an English language learner, I’m always curious about words and their usage!
                Beautiful red tulips! Great pic of them! They look very velvety!

                  I too love words and love to see them stretched and used in different ways - mind you that's different to using them incorrectly which really gets under my skin - perhaps I'm just a tad intolerant in my old age. yes those lovely tulips which I can just about see as I type this are looking a bit sorry for themselves - I expect the petals will be on the ground by tomorrow.

                  • Laura🌻

                    No, not intolerant! We’re just conscientious of a good thing and don’t want it lost!

                  • orchidee

                    Colloquial, eh? That any relation to ventriloquial?!

                      Great message about the power and importance of words. I'm a little obsessed about wanting to use JUST the EXACT word for every occasion. It's SO frustrating when I can't remember a particular word when I need it.

                      • Michael Edwards

                        And then you remember it when it's too late - yes you are not alone.

                        • SLR

                          No offence because I know it's so frustrating, but I'm kinda glad I'm not the only one with that problem.
