Tune: East Acklam
('For the fruits of His creation')
********
Psalm 61 v.1-2
Hear my prayer, O God, to me tend
And me defend
From ends of earth I cry to you
Come, me renew
When my heart is overwhelmed I
Will seek you and unto you cry
Lead me to the rock sure that be
Higher than me
Psalm 61 v.3-4
For you have been shelter for me
Here I do see
And strong tower from enemy
Safe I now be
I will abide in your dwelling
In your tabernacle now sing
Trust in the covert of your wings
Still my soul sings
Psalm 62 v.5-6
My soul wait upon God only
For He shall be
My hope and my expectation
The best, true one
He only my rock, salvation
And avails to every nation
He my defence, I not be moved
His help here proved
Psalm 63 v.1
O God, you my God are, I will
Seek you here still
My soul thirsts for you, my flesh longs
For you, my songs
Shall be of you, I pray you bring
To dry, thirsty land, refreshing
Give eater where parched and dusty
Send showers free
Psalm 63 v.7-8
Because you have been my help sure
I trust you more
And therefore in your wing's shadow
Safety I know
So I will rejoice, and my soul
Follows hard after you, the goal
Your right hand upholds me, you do
Constant renew

Constant renew indeed. Good write Orchi.
Thanks Gold. Phew, we had constant Alleluias! Over 100 of them, including a 13-verse hymn broken into 4 parts (that gave 91 Alleluias) plus more in another hymn! Apt though: 'Light's glittering morn bedecks the sky'. It did!
orchidee, can you answer me one question? is their really a god? my father got lung cancer. he never smoked. he sacrificed his life to take care of his wife and us 11 children. I think to this day. (he passed away 30 years ago.) after the horrible pain that keeps getting worse, until finally, well you know. I lost my true faith in god. I think its something that humans make up to stop their fear. but I do pretend their is one. only pretend.
Is there a god? Well if you believe then there is.
I got a kick
out of your reply.
thank-you.
Thanks Pauly. It's a 'Why' question that I can't answer. I know that seems a 'pat' answer. Yet if you 'pretend' you still have an inkling that someone is there, or may be there.
o.k.
we cant change
the future.
the only thing we can do
is pretend we can.
I'm not too easy myself with 'pretend'.
thank-you for your honest comment. I'm not trying to take anything off
you write wonderful poetry .i have looked into the subject of reality and pretending for years. I found out their the same thing. I'm not trying to change your ways. so then, my own belief is, we are all pretending. and I still don't believe there is a custom made God. ill live and live and live till I die. and I find that humorous. ha! ha! I'm going away for a while, but I'm coming back. to write good poetry it takes time. I don't want to post any old thing. see ya!
Thanks Pauly. I try not to force it on people. See you in a while!
THANKS STEVE ~ For the Fruits of HIS Creation ~ Lovely HYMN of Thanksgiving ! Love more PEARLS from the PSALMS an infinite treasure chest ! My Poem today reflects PSALM 59 ! Yours BRIAN
Thanks Brian. Over 100 Alleluias in our recent service - not all at once! Is there a shortage of them now?! We're over-doing it before the 'Alleluia season' runs out! Though it never does! lol.
Erm yes, Michael, I suppose so. Yet some faith is need. Though Thomas said' If I ain't seeing, I ain't believing!'
Orchi,
Yes, Thomas did say what I like to say (not in reference to religion though), “If I don’t see it, I don’t believe it!” My children would call me the doubting Thomas!
I enjoyed the read and the clip, of course!
