Tune: Regent Square

('Light's abode, celestial Salem')

Psalm 5

*******

To my words, LORD, give ear I pray

My meditation today

Consider, hearken ot my cry

My King and God, I draw nigh

My voice shall you hear, the morning

Sound hear, grace on me dawning

For you delight no in evil

It shall never with you dwell

The foolish stand not in your sight

Lord of righteousness and light

You shall destroy those that speak ill

Those that lie and cheat and steal

But as for me, I will approach

Unto you house, it will broach

In multitude of your mercy

This I have, my comfort be

I will worship in your temple

With godly fear to you call

Lead me Lord, in your righteousness

look on me, and do me bless

Keep me because of enemy

They trouble me, they me see

Make your way straight before my face

So I go on in your grace

For the wicked be unfaithful

In their mouths no truth at all

Destroy them, O God, let them fall

By their man-made counsels all

Cast them out, for their sins they be

Rebelling against you, see

But let those that do trust in you

Rejoice, shout for joy anew

Because you them protect, defend

And to them your blessings send

Let them love you, rejoice in you

Compassed with favour's shield true
