We set out with our nets
Our doughty hearts in hand
And cast them out into the winds
Not knowing where they'll land
The fishes of life swim round
We catch them as we're able
Like silver darts before us
As we bring them to the table
Some of us are lucky
We work to make it so
If rocks come up in our nets
We toss them
Let them go

I have much respect for the fisherman of the world, they work so hard and in sometimes very challenging conditions. Good write Lorna.
HAPPY TUESDAY LORNA ~ Great Song with a great Lyric ! Love the Muppets & Judy
They seem to know the Ocean
Like a Man knows Woman
She makes him wait around
For half the mornin' for the tide to turn
Pull in the ropes ~ Seine haul fishermen
Nevr catches more than he can sell in a day
Pull in the nets ~ Seine haul fishermen
Day's for work and night's to go dancing !
I live in the EAST COAST of the UK ~ some of my Friends are Deep Sea Fishermen ~ hard work but exhilarating and our staple diet is Fish ~ Chips ~ Mushy Peas !
Love your poem ~ It's my experience too that life is like a fishing trip (I've been out with the Trawlers !) and you never know ~ from one day to the next ~ who or what you may catch !!!
Thanks for caring & sharing
Hugs Angela & Brian @@@
Please check my latest ODE !
You gorn fishing there Lorna? When will ya be back?! heehee.
A super write Lorna and great sentiments.
And if we can not let them go
We tie them to a string
And wear them light around our neck;
A parody of bling
Very good! Or a noose!
I bet you tie a good noose! Cowgirl!
If I need one I know where to go 😁
Well truthfully we rode English.........
