It's done, the fun
It's gone the dawn
The years roll on in monotone
The moon suits me
Much better now
I like its contemplative brow
The river no longer breaks free
But drifts along
With moon and me
Just acceptance
As we float
Together in our little boat

That's Beautiful, and so simple. I love it
Thank you for your nice words.....
Great - it flows along like the words in the poem.
It just struck me that the moon can be seen in so many ways....... more than the sun I think..........
Yes the moon brings out the contemplative. In harmony wth our years. Though its mid afternoon in U.K. now, your poem lulls me into the peace of the night, my minds eye drifting upon a slow current neath that big ole moon.
Funny you should say that...... years ago I sat under the moon with a lovely man who said "let's look at that ole moon"............ great memory.
TIME ~ Like an ever rolling stream
Bears all her sons away
They fly forgotten as a dream
Flies at the opening day !

A fine write Lorna - you sailing?! Awesome - Oar-some? Boating? Urgh, my corny jokes. heehee.
Lorna,
The carefully chosen words for your poem resonate with many meanings! Most of us have probably experienced its general meaning! It’s the extremely personal message you have braided with your carefully chosen words that especially resonates with me! A brilliant write complemented by your pic and song!
A perfect trio!
~Laura~
Super write may your boat always sail towards the moon.
