SHE SWAM IN A LUMINOUS SKY

Michael Edwards

SHE SWAM IN A LUMINOUS SKY

At the magical day-end hour

she ascended earthly strife

no more did she live in seclusion

as she ceded the rivers of life.

With thoughts of a comfortable nature

assumed with a welcoming sigh

she drank in the streams of heaven

as she swam in a luminous sky.

    So beautifully written.
You always capture such a peaceful feeling when you write.
    I’m pretty much the opposite.
Guess we balance things out 🙂

Thanks Resa - I guess we do complement each other - perhaps a Collaboration?

Transitional beauty here. I'm interpreting this as the passing at the end of life. I hope i have this right because anyone reading this piece with thoughts of the end of their days will surely see the passing over as a time of.magical transition.
            Lovely words.

Just loved this poem for today! Loved the last two lines, they were my favorite. Great flower pic!

                    Michael,
Today must be one of those days! Yours is the second write that I’ve read about a peaceful death!
                    My dad’s was a peaceful death...3:00a.m. ...8 1/2 years ago!
Your exquisite verse beautifully expresses how I felt about my dad’s passing! Well done my friend!
Love the pic of the aquilegia! Too bad I’m not allowed to plant flowers at his gravesite! Like you, he loved his garden!

                    ~Laura~

And my Dad too about 10 years ago - how I miss my parents. Thanks for your kind comments.

                        You’re very welcome, Michael!

My wish is the same for my mom...when her time comes!

This is beautiful. I have different beliefs about the end of someone life but I can still appreciate the beauty, peace and serenity expressed. Beautiful piece.

Not sure where this came from as I'm an atheist and have no belief in the thereafter but the words seemed to flow when I started writing. Thanks for your comment SLR
