We sat drinking our coffee
When they came in,
Came in by twos.
The first two sat at a table,
A few minutes later two more joined them.
They shook hands,
Greeted each other with pleasantries,
These men of business.
All in suits,
Only two with ties.
They stood and chatted
When they were joined by two more,
Both in suits and ties.
They sat at a table
And started their discussion,
The first item on the agenda,
Was the most serious of the meeting,
Which coffee would each want!

Thanks ANDY ~ I some American Coffee Shops you have at least 20 to choose from ! A Friend of mine had done a POST-DOC in the USA and he came back a "coffee ~ freak" First we had to choose our beans (or a blend) the whole process took about an hour ! My Granny always used CAMP which was a thick black liquid ! Siblings always produce harmony ~ when i give a talk on BING ~ I always play few duets with the Andrew Sisters ~ there are about 25 think ! Love the Coffee Song ~ thanks for sharing ! Please check my BALM IN GILEAD ~ Yours BRIAN
Here's my age - Oh yes, I remember Camp Coffee - bleeurrghhh! Rather have castor oil! heehee.
I still use Camp Coffee in some of my cooking creations.
For the first time in years i wandered through Worcester city t he other day and i was taken aback by the number of coffee houses and eateries. And the prices of a cup of coffee!!!
I think i'lll need to dress up for the occasion next time i fancy a coffee.
Yes it is amazing how many Coffee there are now, even in Evesham where I live if it's not a coffee shop it's a hairdresser!
That is a very clever piece.
Persistence is key
Thank you FJ6
Great observation and where have the true coffee houses gone? The one's where you could select what type of coffee you wanted - country of origin, coffee variety etc. All we get now is coffee forced through a machine, with frothy milk, with different flavours,. has the world gone mad? I want REAL coffee properly brewed and allowed to stand so that the natural flavours can be enjoyed as they are in wine and tea. Sorry - I think I've had this rant here on mps before. Must put it into a poem.
Thanks Michael, we have started going to Coffee#1 which seems better than some of the others and I always drink black coffee, normally Americano.
Your coffee rant as a poem would be good to rread.
Of course the coffee sets the mood for the rest of the meeting. š
So very true, I too have been to those meetings where coffee always comes first.
Great one Golden, coffee is good if its good I went to Asia they are crazy for it. call me old fashion but I like the old way no designer coffee for this cowboy. good write lets get a coffee. peace ww
Thank you ww. Strangely I can drink coffee anyway it is given to me but my preference is black and no sugar, the simplest way it can be made.
Was that the coffee meeting after you was wasting time in another church meeting? Or did you have a nice nap during it?! lol. A fine write Gold.
JUst people watching as Joyce and I drank our coffee.
You wasted more time at any more church meetings lately? Or was they interesting?!
Don't go to them.
Andy,
A well brewed verse! As I read the verse, the aroma permeated my whole being! Coffee is my most favorite beverage! Iām addicted to it!
When I was teaching, there was a coffee roasting house near my school! When the coffee house roasted those coffee beans, the aroma would drive me insane! I couldnāt wait till lunchtime to hurry down the street to get my cup of coffee or two!
I am a coffeeholic! All I want is a...āProper Cup of Coffeeā!āļø
I enjoyed listening to the Andrews Sisters!
~Laura~
Thank you Laura, there are three aromas that are so appealing, coffee brewing, bread baking and bacon frying - I do all three so insanity is is the norm.
