I hear the voice,
A smile comes to my mind.
The sound of innocence,
So wonderful to be heard.
I look over the fence
And see him,
He looks at me, unsure,
This new man to him.
Each day he sees me it gets better,
I wave,
He waves,
There is almost a smile.
But it is the sound of young life
That gives me so much joy,
The wonder in his sound
When he finds something new,
To intrigue his learning mind.
The innocence of childhood
Is so wonderful.
If only it could go on forever
The world in which we live
Would be such a better place.

Ahh, lovely write Gold. My neighbours thought they heard two cats fighting. They called round and said 'is your cat all right?'It was only me singing! Aww, now why they moving out next week?! heehee.
Thanks Orchi. I can understand them moving out!
Wonderfully done my friend our job is to keep that we are born with and make the change you can hear.
Thank you PD, I hope he hears the right changes in his life, as I do with all young children.
Great poem - children melt my heart

Or touch a leaf or see the sky
Then I know why I believe !

To keep up the Bible names from the two you mentioned Brian this young boys name is Reuben.
And to think our Creator revealed to us that being “childlike” is the natural state we have been created for to live life to its fullest. An instructive write...
Thank yoy Gary. It is such a shame that the natural state our Creator revealed to us changes as age advances.
