Disappointment is....

FineB

Disappointment is....

Not getting the job you hoped for,

Your best friend betrays you and lets you down,

Spurs fails to qualify for the FA cup final,

The person you admire greets you with a disapproving frown.

A dress you wanted from M&S is not in stock,

The rambling walk you planned to walk has been postponed,

Your favourite film of the year fails to win the Best Picture Oscar,

A beloved friend has not phoned.

Disappointment is... your life is trapped in one temporary dark tunnel,

With no hope of light at all,

Disappointment is a transitory experience,

For life will turn around events and lady luck will soon call.

Thanks B for a very elegant but real "List of Disappointments" most of which we can emphasise with most years ! However I note (as you comment) they are all transient ! I'm an EVERTON SUPPORTER so I know what you mean ! Love the optimism in your you final line ~ In my experience ~ Life does turn around and Lady Luck is just around the Corner ! Hello Michael,

Thanks for reading and delighted you liked the poem.

Just hope Spurs will win something next season Ponichetto is staying for now. However, if Spurs dont put silverware in the trophy cabinet soon he 'll walk eventually.

Well I keep hoping. I still recall as a youngster going to White Hart Lane to see one of the best sides ever - those were the days. Still don't fancy the dress but I'll wear it if they get silverware next season.

Very good write FineB but in that tunnel there will be light, just don't stop travelling through it.
