Wondrous Enchantment.

Goldfinch60

They appear before me,

These works or art

That pull me into their being.

So much to be seen,

So much to be interpreted.

I look and see so many things,

Things that my mind creates

From the colours on the canvas.

The style of the works enthrals me,

Meaningless to some,

But to me they mean so much

As I gaze into their depths

And fall deeper and deeper

Under their spell,

  • Comment from author about the poem: Ever since I have been on this site Michael Edwards has been showing examples of his artworks in all its varying and wonderful guises. They are all very good but his style of abstract works that he has shown us has really been very meaningful to me. There is something about them that pulls me into them and every time I look at one I see more and more in it. Thank you Michael for showing me this New World. The picture is a collage of some of Michael's Abstracts.

Good write and pics Gold. Meanwhile there's nothing at all to be seen (or heard) in my singing! Well, there could be, in the words, but not with me singing them! heehee.

Exactly! All in the eye of the beholder.
Im more impressed by the sculptures and figures Michael makes from whatever but notably recently driftwood. He's certainly a gifted creative person.

    • Goldfinch60

So true, "in the eye of the beholder", Michael's sculptures using driftwood are also very good but his abstracts seem to call to me. Yes he is a a very creative person.

Flattered and chuffed to bits that you should honour my efforts in this way - thank you so much and such a great write - I've just got to save it.

      • Goldfinch60

It is a pleasure Michael, I do so enjoy looking at your work and am pleased to honour its presence in my life.

        Andy,
A magical collage along with well deserved praises for the Maestro, Michael; and to you for the write and the visual! Exceptional!

Wonderful poem showering Michael with Orchi's plenteous praises! The three of you are a collage in my mind............

HI ANDY ~ I more than agree ~ Being Young I have a great penchant for ABSTRACT ART ~ because it is often untitled and leaves the interpretation to the beholder. I can't understand why so many "Seniors" are dismissive of any ART that is not "photographic" is it prejudice or ignorance of that which is outside their experience or understanding ? I play a game with Michael because I always download his abstracts and orientate them and then (see my comments !) I inform Micheal of all I see in them ! He is very generous and always responds positively ! Micheal's great Poems ~ Photos ~ Paintings are a great blessing to MPS he raises the BAR ! Thanks for your eulogy ~ Yours BRIAN

Thank you Brian, this Old Man used to dismiss Abstract Art when he was younger but our daughter is an artist and talking with her about art has broadened my outlook and I enjoy so much artwork nowadays, especially abstract art. I too download Michael's abstract art.
Strangely the same can be said for my passion for music, I used to dismiss any classical music that was written after 1897 when Brahms died, but a very good friend -introduced me to Copland and another New World opened for me
