TWILIGHT
Wiser now
I watch
as laughter’s glow
begins to wane
and shadows
fall
supressing rays
of
fading love.

- Comment from author about the poem: I was inspired to write this shorty by Cat who wrote a lovely piece called Pieces of Pisces - written as a homage to her work - hope you don't mind Cat. As for the Antirrhinum - they self seed and are always welcome.

A fine write and pic Michael. You wiser now?!
I don't know!
Quite a depth to this moving write Michael - - and to counterbalance the poignant mood such a glorious shade of apricot-pink on that lovely self-seed.
Thanks fay - a lot of the credit must go to Cat who wrote the original.
Beautiful and sad. Thank you for sharing
Thanks for your kind comment - much appreciated.
A sad one full of longing - a winter poem........
Yes it is a bit sad - thanks Lorna.
Beautiful poem and summed up by a lovely flower.
So pleased you enjoyed it - thanks for commenting.
Michael,
What a beautiful Antirrhinum!
Love the colors that nature used to paint it. Super!
I’m so happy that you tell us the botanical names of the flowers you post! I would have to spent a lot of time researching the ones whose name I don’t know...such as this one!
Sadly, the poem reminds me of my parents...one is gone and the other slowly going! Such is life!
The bright side...
I’m grateful she is living a long life!

Also known as Snap Dragon - even the happiest of memories can be touched by sadness - thanks Laura.
Thanks MIKE ~ as we both know ~ noting in this life is permanent and everything fades and dies and is forgotten like the rest ! Even the BEAUTIFUL and LOVELY like the Snap Dragon and of course Princess Diana 20 years ago as we have been reminded recently ! I'm a similar age to William & Harry so I am empathetic with them and for them ~ Yours BRIAN
Thanks Brian
beautiful verse as well as pic of flowers! Nice!
Thank you Christina
