LIMERICK 57

She hailed from the town of Leigh

and filled all the men’s hearts with glee

her long flowing hair

hid her you know where

such a rompworthy lass was she.

There was a Young Lady from BATH
who was always game for a LAFF
      Daily she grooms
      In the Famous Pump Rooms
      But I've never seen Her
      in her in her BAFF

Thanks MIKE for sharing another "L"
      a smile for a Saturday Morning !
Angela and romping on SCYPE !
      Yours BRIAN & ANGELA

She needs a haircut to look her best ........... Campanula carpatica blue!!! One of the only full garden Latin names I have memorized because it sounds like a song!

Very endowed with cuteness. I laughed.

        Michael,
        Romp worthy indeed...
        your limerick...of course🤣
        The chuckle of the day🤣

I tried to translate it to my mom!
        That was hilarious!
        She recognized the
        Campanula Carpatica!
        She exclaimed,
        “Oh, le belle campanelle!”
        (Oh, the beautiful little bells!)

She and my dad were the best gardeners in our family! She took care of the flowers and my dad took care of the vegetables! They lived part of their lives on a farm!

        Thank you for the share!

I can imagine the scene. Actually rompworthy was one of my father's words and I've been meaning to put it into a poem for some time. As for CC - it's the first in bloom so far from this great family - another CC to bloom soon with white flowers followed by the upright C Persicifolia a bit later. I lived my early years on a smallholding - my father bred rabbits for show and we travelled the country - also chickens, geese, and goats - an eclectic mix.

            That must’ve been so interesting!
Was that eclectic group also for show?

            My grandmother bred rabbits...
            but not for show!😟
I’ll leave the rest to your imagination!

We bred Siberians which come in black, brown and blue - if they weren't good enough for the show table they ended up on the lunch table.

              • Michael Edwards

Sorry - should have added that the Siberians are rabbits - we did show chicken and bantam eggs but the geese and goats were purely for - err - fun I guess.

                  Thank You Michael!
I think we’re on the “same page”!

Enjoy the rest of the day!

they said the gal is from brighton
reputed to be a right 'un
                  to stop being bored
                  and please the hordes
she took the isle of wight on
