Finding Peace.

Goldfinch60

All through his life he has been troubled,

Struggled with his temperament,

Flying into rages,

Hitting out at all and sundry.

The fault was within him,

He knew it was wrong,

But no help was found.

So into the depths of despair he sank,

Each day he fell further down,

Further down to the depths,

Until that day

When his soul left his body,

And all was cured.

I stood over his grave and prayed:

“May your death bring you the peace,

The peace that you never found in life”

“May your death bring you the peace you never found in life.”

A Vulcan Prayer said by Tuvok in Star Trek Voyager – Basics Part 2 1996.

  • Comment from author about the poem: I admit it I am a Trekkie! I am watching Star Trek Voyager again and came across this Vulcan prayer said by Tuvok, it seemed so meaningful to me that I had to write a poem from it.

Both the poem and that charming number by Frank made an interesting read on the peace which eventually overtakes all - thanks for sharing both with us Goldi

Somebody wrote that our life in this existence is an education for what follows. Heaven knows.

            • Goldfinch60

Thanks ANDY ~ Seniors get annoyed with ME when I give my talk on DEAN MARTIN and say I prefer Dean to Frank Sinatra especially the mellowness of Deans voice and his perfect annunciation of the Italian Language in VOLARE etc ! I have the outline of a talk on Frank but have never delivered it ~ hope you are not too shocked and I appreciate that Frank was a mighty fine actor ! Loved the poem (and the Song !) and the VULCAN PRAYER ~ Yours BRIAN Can you please add a Flower Poem to my FUSION ~ Thanks B !

I like both Frank and Dean. As far as music is concerned you know as well as I do that we each have our favourites which is how it should be, it is the appreciation of those differences that makes music so interesting and wonderful.
Thanks, as always, for your comments Brian.

                  Hi fellow Trekkie!
Star Trek...One of the greatest series!

                  Thank you for sharing!
