PEACE ~ AN ENGLISH FAVOURITE
I love my Mums Rose Garden
It is a perfect sight
Some are RED and some are PINK
And some are VIRGIN WHITE !
Their Names always intrigue me
What do they mean ~ what do they say ?
There's Mama Mia ~ Lovely Lady
Amelia and Jacqueline du Pre !
Canary Bird & Rhapsody in Blue
Creme de la Creme & Penny Lane
The Bridge of Sighs & Waterloo
Isabella ~ she's the Queen of Spain !
There's Climbing Roses on a trellis
Forming Arches o'er the Garden Path
Alibaba ~ Golden Gate ~ That's Jazz
Rambling Rector ~ Boogie Woogie ~ what a laugh
FLORIBUNDAS are my favourite
In full bloom ~ shine with a rosy haze
English Bliss and an old'un Golden Smiles
Free Spirit ~ Lovestruck ~ Lazy Days !
Thanks for visiting ~ comments welcome ~ Love BRIAN XOX
The names given to ROSES all have a reason but you
have to be careful. My Grandmother was embarrassed
because my Mother had put "Princess Diana" in the
same bed as "The Doctor" ~ but Mum had her reasons !

A fine write Brian. Meanwhile I been busy watering the weeds as well the flowers! Doh! Someone said 'Them there are weeds ,don't ya know!' lol.
Weeds are only flowers in the wrong place.
Ahh thanks Gold. Some country walks this time of year seem like walks through jungles. Plenty of greenery! I turned back on one walk before bramble bushes devoured me. There were tracks where not shown on maps, and vice versa!
THANKS STEVE ~ Pleased you liked it ~ Roses are lovely and in some ways ~ very English ~ They always stir my MUSE ! I love "wild flowers" WEEDS is a very negative word ~ they just nee a patch of their own ~ not rooting out ~ Yours BRIAN
Very good write Brian, the peace rose always used to be in my mother and fathers garden.
Thanks ANDY ~ pleased you liked it ~ I always find the names given to specific ROSES interesting & intriguing ! CANTS can always supply just the right name. PEACE is awesome ~ we plant them in the Church Rose Garden for those who have been called home to GLORY ~ Yours BRIAN ~ I've added ROSES ARE RED by JIM REEVES ~ You might like to revisit ~ B !
Fine write about a fine flower. Must be the pinkest Peace I have seen - might be Love and Peace which is a sport. One rose I have always had in my many houses is Ballerina - I can see it from where I sit - in full bloom and such a sight.
Thanks MIKE ~ I love the combination of Pink & Yellow ~ very feminine ! BALLERINA is a very delicate rose ~ white tinged with pink ~ looks just like Apple Blossom. My parents have a very large French Window to enable then to see their garden in all Seasons. They have over 50 very healthy Rose Bushes ~ my Dad is very protective of them ! Pleased you enjoyed the Poem ~ Yours BRIAN ~ I've added ROSES are RED by Jim Reeves ~ You might like to revisit ~ B !
Wow! I can always count on your writes to be a welcome breath of fresh air. Thank you again for reminding me to live in the present, and to find beauty in the moment. I hope someday you write a book.
Thanks JANE ~ your comments are always encouraging ! I'm too young to write a book but it's on my wish list ! I have always been fascinated by Roses and the range of names they have blows me away. PEACE will always be my FAVORITE ~ My Mum has FIVE (I live in a flat ~ no rose bushes) all my Mums have deep pink edges as in PHOTO. Did you like the SONG by JIM REEVES ? He died in a Plane Crash over 50 years ago (1964) but He is my favourite Country Singer ! Yours BRIAN
Nice poem and beautful rose pic! Nice one! Sister Christina
HOLA CHRIS ~ I have always loved ROSES and when I have my own HOUSE (2020 ?) I hope to have a big Garden so i can start my OWN ROSE GARDEN ! How are you today ~ I\'m OK but Mondays are always BUSY ! Still the term ends in JULY and then I go to New Zealand in AUGUST can\'t wait to be with ANGELA again ~ we have a weeks vacation planned ~ Just the two of us to BAY of ISLANDS which is North of Auckland. I have visited a couple of times and it is magical even in WINTER. DAVID & RUTH want to visit South Island (CHRISTCHURCH) where David has an Uncle & Cousins ~ All BRITS have a relation in NEW ZEALAND or AUSTRALIA and CANADA of course or the USA ! Hope you have had a good DAY and that your GRAN is OK ~ Hugs BRIAN ~ Angela sends her love from NZ ~ @@@@@@@
I love all roses dear Brian and your Mum certainly has an abundance of colour and scent - - floribunda happens to be my favourite too. Great read.
Thanks FAY ~ The names given to Roses always fascinate ME and PEACE has an interesting pedigree ! In the "street where I lived ~ with my parents" most houses have a Floribunda in the front garden and the scent and sight in June & July is awesome. Pleased you liked it ~ Yours as always ~ BRIAN
