Fitness Holiday.

Goldfinch60

There it was in the newspaper,

A headline that said,

“Could you handle a fitness holiday?”

Why should I?

A holiday is for relaxing,

Strolling gently amongst the green hills,

By cooling streams,

Or paddling the breaking waves,

The waves on the sandy beach.

I do not want to lose breath

As exercises cause muscle pain.

I want to sit by the pool,

Watching others swimming,

Just sit there,

With something wet and cool to hand.

I don’t want to run in circles

Getting more and more tired.

I want to walk gently through wooded glades,

Sharing natures peaceful world.

“Could you handle a fitness holiday”

No, not with all the stress

That it would bring to my soul,

Relaxing is the way to go,

The way to go on holiday.

Maybe a fitness for the mind through relaxation and the calming blow of an ocean breeze with feet tapping in the sand. Good one.

    • Goldfinch60

That is the way I would prefer my holiday Heartwriter, thank you.

I'm with you believe me. I saw several people jogging into town this morning - I guess the buses must be on strike - great wrote Andy.

        • Goldfinch60

Those people jogging around town with wires coming out of their ears normally must miss the wonder of interaction with others. Thank you Michael.

A fine write Gold. We'll be all worn out by the time we get back. It'll be more 'work' than paid work!

          • Goldfinch60

Very true, I did think about joining a gym at one time but I went and lay down in a darkened room with an unwatered scotch until the thought went away.

Oh dear, I was at a show. There were some food freebie there. I had a tot of some 1856 whisky. It blew my head off. Well, they did not add any water to it! Don't know what name it was.

Go "ActionMan" go. May your travels bring your joy. Thank you Brian. Yes I too like Chopin, unsurprisingly and have his complete works on CD.

              • SLR

I've always loved this piece by Chopin. You can listen to it as you recline by the pool watching them swim. Sounds very relaxing to me. My interpretation of the headline is that they are inviting us to take a break from trying to be fit. 🙂 🙂 Too much exercise is bad for the body! 🙂 🙂

                • Goldfinch60

Thank you SLR, I thoroughly agree with your last statement. Yes I too like Chopin and as I said to Brian, I have his complete works on CD.

That Orchi fellow gets everywhere, if ever you see us together Orchi is the one that screeches like a cat and I am the one singing with a mellow bass voice.
