Finding Freedom.

Goldfinch60

We get them many times,

Those times where we are trapped.

Cannot move,

Cannot escape.

Until we lay asleep

And fall into our dreams,

As in our dreams,

We find freedom.

  • Comment from author about the poem: I was watching an Episode of Porridge last night (Porridge was a UK comedy about being in prison) and Fletcher and Godber were talking and Godber was feeling trapped and Fletcher said that when you go to sleep in your dreams you find freedom. This spoke to me so I wrote these words.

A fine write and clip Gold. These sort of songs are 'nice'. I gave up following the pop charts, oh about 1985 I reckon! Any hits in 1066?

Thanks Orchi. The fifties, sixties and Seventies were the best times as far as 'pop' is concerned. Especially the sixties, that decade changed the world of music completely.

DREAM ON ANDY ~ This wee ode sure hit a chord with many of us ! My dreams take me to AUCKLAND to be with ANGELA and Hers bring her to Essex to be with Me ~ hope we don't pass like "long white clouds" in the Night ! The other problem is because she is 11 hours ahead timewise ~ while I'm dreamin' Angela's wide awake and v.v. ! Love the sentiments in the Poem ! Love the EVERLEY BROTHERS ~ every recording a GEM. My Cousin ~ who is a "Voice Coach" tells me that because they are Brothers they have a similar Bucal Cavity which allows their voices to resonate and harmonise perfectly. The same is true of The Andrew sisters & the Beverley Sisters ~ The Osmonds ~ The Jackson Five ~ etc OK. Thanks for sharing BRIAN
