TOO MUCH INFORMATION ?

BRIAN & ANGELA

YOU'RE IN A QUEUE SIR ~ PLEASE HOLD !

HOW MANY EMAILS ~ Do you get each day ?

On you laptop computer

Who are they from ~ what do they say

Positive ~ Negative or Neuter ?

I get a hundred ~ many more at work

EMAILS from every Tribe & Nation

Some tell me I'm GREAT ~ others "Just a Jerk"

Much much too much MUSH & INFORMATION

HOW MANY PHONE CALLS ~ Do you get each day ?

On your new "State of the Art" MOBILE

Who are they from ~ what do they say ?

I guess most of them are FOBILE !

Ladies with offers ~ no man could refuse

Cheap ENERGY and FREE Double Glazing

Philosophers & Poets stirring your Muse

Replace your front lawn with Pavey Crazing !

HOW MANY PEOPLE ~ Do you speak to each day ?

And have a proper conversation ?

Or do they all wear headphones ~ musak interplay

Waitin' for the PUFF PUFF at the Station !

We sit on the Train ~ like ZOMBIES in a Play

And then MOON WALK at our Destination !

When we get to WORK the Coffee's on the perk

Served by  machine and not by a BARRISTA

We never speak ~ as the buttons we all twerk

It used to be served by a chatty Irish Sister !

With EARPHONES on my head I tumble into BED

Sweet nothings never SAID ~ my NOVEL still UNREAD !

Thanks for reading ~ comments welcome ~ Love BRIAN XOX

The electronic age has divested the world of conversation. Good write Brian and very true.

Thanks ANDY ~ True indeed ~ Perhaps one day I will turn up @ your Poetry Reading and we'll have a face to face ! I could send you a HOLOGRAM of me reciting "To a MOUSE" ! Did you get the version with "The Entertainer by SCOTT JOPLIN" the UK's favourite holding tune ? Its in my Head 24/7 ! Have a nice day ~ BRIAN

      • Goldfinch60

That Scott Joplin tune has been with me all my life, my Dad used to play it a great deal.

A fine write Brian. I was scared with that title - thought it might be TMI (Too Much Info) of a swoony nature! heehee.

        • BRIAN & ANGELA

NOT THIS TIME STEVE ~ You will have to cancel your subscription to Playboy and subscribe to the WARCRY (Sally Army) instead ! for me in the 21st C people become more like Hitech Zombies each day . I shudder to think what it's going to be like in 2100 (117) perhaps my BRAIN will be transplanted into DARLEK like machine ~ EXTERMINATE ~ EXTERMINATE ~ EXTERMINATE ! Pleased you enjoyed it ~ BROTHER BRIAN & SISTER ANGELA DON'T miss out on my DESERT ISLAND FUSION ~ Add a LUXURY and you can join us ~ B !

How come I been around since before 1066? And Goldfinch/Andy too? I messed it all up at Hastings you know. All my fault, saying to Harold 'Look up, Sir' at the fateful moment.
Aww, I must have me Playboy, though it does me no good. It don't help to reduce my swoons! lol.

All too true this outcry against unrequired and unneeded information coming so quickly without even one word exchanged - - well said Brian - I wonder whether now it has arrived whether it ever will change. By the way I love the number you chose by Scott Joplin.

very true, very true.we get so wrapped up in our technology,we are forgetting what it is like to have human contact, which we need so very much.but on the other hand,if it was'nt for this technology thing,i would'nt have any friends.especially ones with like minds, who live world wide.so it can be a good thing if used in moderation.

            • BRIAN & ANGELA

VERY TRUE ~ The NINTH Fruit of The Spirit is MODERATION / SELF CONTROL which is in very short supply these days ! Everyone wants to "Rule The World" and they destroy SILENCE with MUSAK and spoil a "Game of Bridge" or an interesting "Round Table Conference" with the "fobile moan" of their "mobile phone". HOWEVER MPS depends on Cyber Communication ~ but we are all Honorable People ~ so we have new & loving SIBLINGS (good word !) On our DESERT ISLAND all is sweetness and Light and there is a Place for everything ~ Everything in its Place ~ ONLY one PC and only one MOBILE between us ~ AMEN ! There is still space for more LUXURIES ~ Please check & Post ~ some BROKEN IN HOSSES would be useful for exploration ONE HP each and grass instead of PETROL ~ AMEN ~ TUS HERMANOS ESPIRITUALES BRIAN Y ANGELA ~ ABRAZOS EN EL ESPIRITO !

Very good and interesting write! Social media has also taken away face to face conversation. (not me) 🙂 But seriously, the modern age is upon us!--Sister Christina
