And a new Front Door
Burgler and smoke alarms
Throughout a pristine Parquet Floor !
My Garage ~ automatic door
A Greenhouse and a Shed
My Garden's nice and landscaped ~ twice
I have a DOG called FRED !
But firms keep on COLD CALLING
Selly ~ Selly ~ Selly ~ Selly
With voices high ~ from far MUMBAI
And Call Centres from DELHI !
The Wide Boys ~ from the Black Stuff
Want to redo me Drive
Or a SPOOF to mend me ROOF
Or sell me a BEEHIVE !
I've pinned a NOTICE on me Door
No Latter Days ~ No Watchtower People
I've got it all ~ don't want no more
Just leave me QUIET & PEACEFUL !

Are you fed up with COLD CALLERS and DOUBLE GLAZING
SALESMAN ? My MUM is always nice to MORMONS and
JEHOVAH'S WITNESSES but she gives THEM some of Her
Evangelical Literature and Prays with them. Because she
makes good COOKIES (Cherry Pie for American Mormons)
they always come back for more and thank her for Praying
for them. She is a Saint and is even nice to Politicians !

Thanks CHRIS ~ Pleased you liked it ~ it's nearly 11pm here been out to a Concert to support an Orphanage & School in INDIA ~ Classical Music and a Choirs of Indian School Children excellent ! Yes COLD CALLERS on Phone or at the Door are a nuisance and disturb the Peace. My MUM is nice to the M's & JW's and invites them so SHE can WITNESS to THEM ~ most people just slam the Door in their Faces. Because She is nice to them they respect Her Faith ~ Her Literature and Prayers. It is a real "volte face" ! Good write Brian. I used to have a Jehovah's Witness come regularly so spoke to him about my beliefs ad nauseum, eventually he stopped coming.
Great poem and so true. I don't get a lot of solicitors where I live because it's gated but I do tend to hear from telemarketers even at work, but I guess they have to make living too. I probably would enjoy some of you mom's apple pie too.
