A fine write Brian. Hmm I wondered why me team kept losing. I kept scoring own goals! doh!
Thanks STEVE we are all praying for ENGLAND on Tuesday ~ that they will show excellent SPORTSMANSHIP ! \"It matters not to WIN or LOSE ~ but how we played the game\" On the QUESTION of own GOALS in Life & Love ~ My Mantra is \"Better to have scored an OWN GOAL than never to have scored at all\" Yours BROTHER BRIAN !
But me team came bottom of the league. It was all my fault! heehee.
I inadvertently watched the Russia/Spain penalty shoot out - it was quite good, no cheating and fouling going on as is the norm in football.
Saying that though all seems to be going well in Russia there certainly has not been any sign of trouble and all the supporters seem to be getting on with each other - I hope that lasts.
WELL ANDY ~ I do pray for all the UK Professional Sportsmen & Ladies that they will set an example and bring HONOUR as well as GLORY to our Country. Being born in Liverpool (I support Everton) I am a FOOTYFANATIC and we have a dedicated Young Team & Manager who are capable of repeating 1066 or was it 1966 ~ before my time anyway ! I feel the cool way all the FANS have conducted themselves is a REAL ANSWER TO PRAYER ~ AMEN ! Yours BRIAN
HI SWEETHEART ANGELA HERE ~ Its 9pm (Monday) here and I've finished for the Day ! Nice Sonnet on PENALTY SHOOT OUTS which a lot don't understand ! In essence SPAIN were a lot more talented than RUSSIA in the Game : but you cant argue with PSO's! Now that SPAIN (my Dad's Team) are OUT I can start supporting ENGLAND! Now that Australia are out most KIWIS are supporting England but for us the LIVE TV is 6am Wednesday Morning so we will all be up early ! I have a late clinic on WEDNESDAY (4th July) so I will not have to rush into work ! Because the KIWIS are such "mobility" fanatics there are a lot of evening Physio Clinics : Love the Poem & Pictures : Love you too All my Love ANGELA XXXX You are a SWEETIE : Thanks for including a clip in which SPAIN beat our NEIGHBOURS PORTUGAL in a PSO in the 2012 Euro! ANGELA XXXX
GOOD EVENING ANGEL ~ Pleased you enjoyed the Sonnet & Video. I know you know a lot about FOOTY being a Real Madrid & Spain supporter ~ My DAD was an Everton Supporter and when they were winning we could here the Whoops of Joy from Goodison Park ~ in our Garden ~ when Everton scored ! Sorry about Spain en La Copa del Mundo ~ they were the BETTER SIDE but in FOOTY ~ Penalties Rule OK ~ still hot today 25C (77F) and it is the start of Wimbledon ~ my Sister has tickets for Court No. 1 ~ no rain forecast. Hope it\'s warm enough for you to play TENNIS in NZ 13C (55F) ? Will talk later in my Lunch hour (11:30am here I\'m in the office planning a Coastal Erosion trip end of JULY and then OCTOBER) Eternal LOVE ~ BRIAN XOX Yes I did include the video clip of SPAIN beating PORTUGAL in a PSO in 2012 to cheer you up ~ That\'s what a FIANCE is for 24/7 TLC ~ B XOX
I don't know a lot about the game, sorry, but you did a great job on the poem! Love the form and the iambic pentameter. Please check my poem titled "hot!" Sister Christina
Thanks CHRIS ~ Soccer (Football) is basically very simple. A GOAL @ each end and the object of the GAME is to get the Ball past the opponents Goalkeeper and into the net. Scores are very low (generally less than FIVE) which can appear boring compared with BASKETBALL and American Football (RUGBY) ! Cricket ~ which lasts FIVE DAYS ~ is actually a mystery to us. The Match today in the QUARTERS was Mexico vs Brazil and because the score was MEXICO NIL : BRAZIL TWO after 90 minutes there was no need for extra time or a Penalty Shoot Out ~ OK Loved today\'s Hot POEM ~ a lighter tone and more info about your lovely State which shall remain nameless ! Every Blessing ~ Tus Hermanos en el Spirito Sancto ~ BRIAN y ANGELA ~ Abrazos Muchos @@@@@@@
And here's me remembering shoulder charges and charges on the goalkeeper - oh those were the days before it became a game for wimps - and if only they would do away with off-side rule and open up the game and make it more exciting - just pipe dreams Brian. Great write as always.
Very True MICHAEL ~ The rule of Association Football is \\\"Play the ball not the Man !\\\" but but it is open to mis-interpretation. Rugby is much more robust but there are more accidents. The millions of pounds invested in Professional Footballers has led to a philosophy of \\\"Avoid an accident at all costs and if you get nudged lie down & cry\" and you may even get a Penalty or a Free Kick which can seriously alter the game etc UK Basketball is completely non-contact and a better game for it ~ US Pro Basketball is much more robust ! Thanks for reading and commenting ~ I've missed your Poems 'n Pics more please ! Yours BRIAN
