Feels like an oven when you walk outside
No choice but to cool off at the lake
No rain, no breeze in sight
Just gonna go to the beach and bake
No so common on a Great Lakes state
to already be under heat advisory
Have had my kids playing with
squirt guns and water balloons with me
Nighttime offers no relief from the heat
I can't believe we were just a frozen wasteland
Now I'm finding myself trying
to make my way through the hot sand
Inland lakes are fairly warm
But Lake Michigan feels like ice!
No matter where you go
A break from the heat is really nice

HI SISTER CHRIS ~ Love this poem ~ it is quite upbeat ~ abut the HEAT ! Only a few weeks ago you were complaining abut freezing to death ~ What an amazing State to be in ! Like the UK you are also surrounded by Water but yours is Fresh and ours is salty (we have to make sure we don't drink too much !) Angela feels at home in NZ because Auckland is also surrounded by (sea) water and of course it is WINTER so it is cool @ night 5C (40F) and in the day 13C (55F) We are having a HEATWAVE TOO 25C (77F) and higher everyday and forecast into next week. WIMBLEDON has started (The Williamson Sisters are both through to the next round) ANDY MURRAY is not competing (BOO HOO) Love your poem ~ more like that please ~ TUS HERMANOS en CHRITOS Brian Y Angela ~ Siete Abrazos Grandes @@@@@@@

Very true, here in the UK it is very hot and I am not happy, I much prefer the cold. Very good write though, Lake Michigan sounds like my kind of place.
