Your Path.

Goldfinch60

The path of your life lies ahead of you,

As you walk along it you may stumble.

Others come to your aid

And walk with you for a while,

They leave and once more you are alone,

Walking the path to your future.

Ahead you see others stumble

And you help them rise,

And walk with them into their future

Until you have to leave,

And move onto a different path.

Along every path you travel

Others may join you,

Or you may join others on their path,

But the path you walk is your path,

And nobody can walk it for you.

“It’s your road, and yours alone, others may walk it with you, but no one can walk it for you.” Rumi

  • Comment from author about the poem: I came across the Rumi saying and just had to do something with it. The music is from Max Richter's composition of "Songs from Before". I often listen to Richter's music.

A fine - 500th - write there Gold. Oh, me too - mine was yesterday I see.
Pity I took a wrong path in 1066!

Thank you Orchi, you will reach the right path in time, we all do.

Happy Poem day Andy - a rich posting indeed topped by another sage write.

Sad as it is I've just checked mine and a quick count reveals I've posted circa 480 - hard to believe and that doesn't take into account that many postings (limericks for example) have been posted several in one go.

Thank you Michael, the inspiration from Rumi made this one.

More wise words from you - the bard. I'm already limping from several misplaced footfalls along the way. Happily lending a hand to others along the way, though i wonder how they view such an offer when they perceive my limp and stagger.

We all stumble, limp and stagger but as long as we are prepared to help others all will be well.
