Caving Together.

Goldfinch60

Where were they?

They went into the cave

But did not come out!

A search was started

Among the treacherous rocks

And streams within the cave.

For days there was no sign,

Until that day when they were found

In the most difficult place imaginable,

Sitting on a rock,

With water around them.

The call went out,

And from all over the world

The experts came,

Came to try and save the boys.

The world watched on,

Watched on in admiration,

Watched on in anticipation.

Save them they did

Risking their own lives,

One of which was lost,

To bring the boys to safety,

And to safety they came

Thanks to the skill and bravery

Of the experts of the world

Coming together to help,

The world can be wonderful,

When people work together.

A fine write and tribute Gold. A pity people may only work together in emergencies. Though there are ongoing good things - charities, research, help for the needy, etc.
What are the plans for 1066 this year?!

    • Michael Edwards

I think the mace did more damage than we thought Orchi. I\'m not planning for 1066 this year - it\'s 2018. ๐Ÿ™‚ ๐Ÿ™‚

      • Goldfinch60

Thank you Orchi, yes there are some ongoing good things but we very rarely hear of them.

              wishful thinking?
              it will never be 100%
look for the ones that do.

              Andy,

A wonderful tribute to the 13 rescued and the magnificent specialists who rescued them! When things get tough, the tough get going! Admirable!

A wonderful write about what can happen when others care about fellow human beings. Thanks!

We must get plans set in motion for the 1066 gathering soon. (Hastings, October). Of course, it won't be as grand as the 950th anniversary which was in 2016. But it will be the 952nd one. Anyone attend them all? They been held every year since!

                  • Goldfinch60

I have a birthday with a zero on the end of it on the 6th October, that is taking precedence at the moment.

Will you be age 1,000? That would make you age 38 for Hastings 1066!

Yes we can. The pulling together to save young lives is truly soul lifting. My inner prayers include a hope that such charity reaches the ears of those who plot terrorist actions and questions their resolve.
                      Fine writing sir.

                      • Goldfinch60

Thank you da, very true if only others would follow this fine example of all coming together.

THANKS ANDY ~ for a wonderful tribute (from the Heart) for all those who made a successful rescue ! Especially for the THAI SEAL who selflessly laid down his own life for the Boys and their Coach. The resonance of the Hebrew Slaves Chorus seemed aptly appropriate ~ thanks for caring ~ BRIAN Please spare a Prayer for Garry Southgate & Harry Kane and their very Young but Enthusiastic England Team ~ They are COMING HOME ~ but alas not the CUP ~ Yours BRIAN

                        • Goldfinch60

I though that the Hebrew Slaves Chorus was very appropriate as the words are so meaningful.

I did watch the match they played well but personally I think they were beaten by a slightly better team. They have done themselves proud though in the manner in which they conducted themselves at all times.
