TURTLES BASKING ON A LOG !
TURTLES are very funny animals
USUALLY sunning on a log or rock
REALLY cute a long line of @@@@@
TURTLES Babies to Granddads ~ Turtle Flock !
LOVELY in Status ~ Size & Order
EXCEPTIONAL Swimmers in the water !
TORTOISES are quite different
ONLY happy on land ~ they be
REALLY ponderous ~ slow & shy
THEY retreat into SHELL and never play with ME !
ONLY make good pets for GERIATRICS
I ONLY had a Tortoise once ~ not planned
SHE was in'erited from my Uncle .......

TORTOISES are good pets for Busy People ~ they make
no demands and sleep all WINTER ! My Grandma's like
that her shell is her padded housecoat ! She lives with
My Parents and she is my Dad's MA - IN - LAW ! ~ He
calls her TILLY the TORTOISE and predicts She will live
for another 200 years ! But we all love Her ~ BRIAN XOX

THANKS HEART ~ Most people like cuddly Pets like cats ~ dogs & bunnies. My Parents have a CAT but I'm in a flat so I can only have a FISH TANK but no turtles ! As you say they are difficult to communicate with ~ You can talk to Dogs & Cats & Parrots etc but not Fish or Turtles ! Thanks FAY pleased you enjoyed the Poem 'n Pics ~ I like to entertain ! Grandma's provide a lot of Love & Fun ! I'm glad my parents took her in rather than a CARE HOME. I do visit Care Homes to give them a JIM REEVES etc Sing Along Concert ! Before I start they are contracted into their Housecoats ~ BUT ~ as soon as I PLAY Jim Reeves ~ Nat King Cole ~ Elvis ~ Bing ~ Johnny Cash ~ Sinatra etc the come alive and clap ~ stomp their feet and sing along ~ Wonderful. These BALLAD SINGERS of the 50's & 60's were wonderful ~ it must have been a wonderful era especially coming after WW2. With CD's I can always find the right track at teh push of a BUTTON ! Love turtles! Have never have one for a pet though. There are no tortoises around here. Great write!
THANKS CHRIS ~ Pleased you love TURTLES ~ we don\'t get them in the wild in the UK. They are a bit slow on LAND but sleek and swift in the WATER. When my Friends come from the USA to work or visit they always refer to TORTOISES as TURTLES. I have seen GIANT TORTOISE in ZOOS and THE GALAPOGOS is on our \"TO VISIT\" list ! Good fun write Brian. I have never had a tortoise but have had friends who have had them and loved them.
