My Cellphone

My Cellphone

Today we’d be lost

Without our precious phones

Our ties to the world

To insure we’re never alone

Today we get excited

When we stop and play

Games of all kinds

To pass the time away

We phone our dear friends

And message many more

With our social media

To connect and explore

We live sedentary lives

Though there is an app

To count our steps each day

When long days we’ve had

And when we are lost

We can ask our phones

And we will find our way

To places never known

And we can check the weather

As often as we like

And know with info best

To go out or stay inside

When we retire at night

We  plug our phones in

And we can get some rest

Until the day begins

Here in the UK we call them mobile phones not that matters one jot - great write about a modern piece of technology which I only use rarely to make the odd phone call. I find it so strange how some folk are on them 24/7 and don't see or appreciate the world around them - how shallow - there must be a mid-point somewhere.

Thanks, Michael. I just got a cellphone recently myself.I didn't know what all the fuss was about until I owned one. I'm afraid I am addicted too at this point. I use Google constantly and enjoy playing some games my wife played. She is really the one that convinced me that i was out-of-the-loop technologically speaking. She has gotten me out of the dark. Yes, one can become obsessed with them. I hope I never get that engrossed. Thanks for your comments.

As Michael had said people miss so much now they have mobile 'phones. There was a new sculpture erected which crossed a path leading to Salisbury Cathedral, it was two hands clasped together, because people were too busy looking at the 'phones and di not walk down the middle they kept on hitting their heads, the sculpture was moved which I thought was an awful decision. I saw another episode on the television where a person fell into a fountain because he was on his 'phone and not looking where we was going.
Be aware of the world outside your new 'phone w c.

Thanks, Goldfinch. I'll try to be careful with my phone.

A fine write w c. Some more might be on their laptops all the time too. But some, as mine, are too big to take everywhere. Just as well!

Thanks, orchidee. Thanks for your comment. Your are correct that laptops can be a problem as well. Like yours, mine is to big to be lugging it around anywhere.
