Tune: Louvan
('Lord of all being, throned afar')
Isaiah 45 v.1-5
********
The LORD said unto Cyrus, see
Ruler of Medo-Persia he
Appointed by the LORD to be
Releaser from captivity
Release of Jews from Babylon
He be the LORD's true chosen one
That they may return, be restored
It comes to pass as the LORD's word
The LORD will go before him when
He guides him, crooked places then
Shall be made straight, gates of brass they
Shall be all broken in that day
And bars of iron shall be shattered
Cyrus the LORD's call he had heard
He working His plans out always
Bringing renewed comforting days

The most high will always have our backs and lead us not to temptation. Great write, orchidee.
Thanks Kevin.
Another great one! Thanks again.
Thanks Heart - and Benji!
Thanks STEVE ~ Love the Hymn and the echoing piano ~ essential in many Gospel Halls. There is one in Sheffield called CEMETERY ROAD Gospel Hall ~ reminiscent of the UGLEY WOMEN's INSTITUTE in Essex ! Love the Poems ~ Yes GOD did use CYRUS just as He used Baalam's Donkey and even more remarkable YOU & I in his service ~ AMEN ~ Yours BRIAN ~ Please check my TIME POEM ~ Thanks B !
Thanks Brian. We're not mad saying there's a talking donkey in the Bible!
I was there - did you see me selling pulled bison in flat bread.
Yes lol. A bit before Harold and 1066.
I was very very young then.
You mean were we there as in “Lectio Divina”? Right on for suggesting the reading of your poem this way; I’m right on board with you and Cyrus!
Thanks Gary. Well, we could have been there in spirit, as it were. But it's my daft eccentric joke on here - saying I'm millions of years old, and turning up anywhere in time! Nothing spooky to it. It's so no-one guesses my real age. Oh vanity! heehee.
