NIGHTSHADE WINE
Deep within a tenebrous gloom
In deepest glades where wood gods reign
The muffling leaves of thickening years
A carpet spread in dark arcades
A place where music tends to tears
And only by the spirit heard
Her mind still sternly exercised
As unsolved puzzles intertwined
His image etched within her heart
Enshrined there as divinity
She wove her dreams on looms of love
And swam in life’s deep passion.
Within the recesses of time
And wrapped in swathes of doubts reserve
Held down by weight of shadows
She drank the nightshade wine.

Beautiful write Michael.
You have created some lovely images in this poem . Lovely to read
Thank you so much for your kind words
A fine write and pic M. I don't suppose it will make any difference to the fatal outcome if she added water to that wine? Meanwhile *gets out dictionary for tenebrous*.
Can you let me know please?
I will try it myself. Dunno how I can reply though. I'll leave a note, as it will probably be fatal!
All very dark and mysterious
I will get Miss Berles to try it out.
Very beautiful poetry Michael. You certainly have a wonderful gift.
Well I try but I'm going through a barren spot at the moment so will have to post a few short funny ones. They are easy to do in comparison.
Michael,
A beautiful pic and a fine write with many great metaphors! I’ll have to be careful not to drink too much of that “NIGHTSHADE WINE”!
I’m lucky to be able to eat many nightshade fruits and vegetables without a problem! I would be at a loss not being able to eat tomatoes🍅and peppers🌶!

VERY DRAMATIC MICHAEL ~ Never tried Belladona Wine ! Tenebrous (dark - shadowy - obscure) gloom ~ Unsolved puzzles ~ Life's deep passions ~ Weight of Shadows ~Une poeme noire indeed ~ Yours BRIAN & ANGELA !
I like the last line the best.
ha! ha!
Images with words, a great job as usual.
