Pleasant Pastures

Tune: St Gregory

(one tune to 'With glorious clouds encompassed round')

Psalm 16 v.5-11 part

*********

The LORD is my portion, and He

My inheritance be

My lot He does uphold, and gives

His help to me, He lives

The lines are fallen unto me

In pleasant places, see

Yes, I have goodly heritage

He gives confidence, courage

I have set the LORD here before

Me, He my focus sure

He at my right hand, and I shall

Not be moved, but fare well

Therefore my heart is glad, and my

Glory, my tongue hereby

Rejoices, and my flesh also

Shall rest in hope, I know

For you will not leave here my soul

In hell, but will make whole

Nor will allow your Holy One

To see corruption done

You will the path of life show me

In your presence there be

Fullness of joy, and pleasures e'er

At your right hand are there

Thanks STEVE ~ You have ameliorated my FRIDAY ! Love Charles W ~ a perfect poem twinned with a perfect tune.. Love the shades of the Minor Key in this one ~ it gives it attitude ! We are back to the Psalms for inspiration ~ Psalm 16 v 11 "Thou wilt show me the path of LIFE ~ In Thy presence is fullness of JOY ~ At Thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore" In some of the Churches I preach in we must read from The Authorised Version only ~ AMEN Yours Brian & Angela
