There it sits in front of me,
My Aston Martin,
The Vanquish of course,
The car of my dreams.
It is mine!
I have one!
I slide into it,
Its opulent comfort.
The engine roars
With a deep growl
As start it.
Off I go
Into my travels,
At speeds unknown
Into this rapid world,
Leaving all behind me.
Then I hear a noise,
Somebody is talking,
“Wake up! Wake up!”
Then I realise,
It is still the car of my dreams.

- Comment from author about the poem: The new Aston Martin Vantage 18 is available from £120,900, if anybody is willing to by me one, pay the tax and for the fuel ( 26.8 mpg) I would be most grateful.

A fine write Gold. Did they have any in 1066?
the Aston Martin DB Hastings had just came out.
Ahh, I remember having a Skoda then. The same one as I have now in fact! or a similar name? I forget, but it was always the butt of jokes. May still be.
My last four cars have been Skodas and they are great cars.
Oops It must have been something else. I am still riding a horse from 1066.
Where do you put the starting handle Orchi?
Please don't ask Michael.
If it helps I can really see you in it
So in my world your wheels are spinning
Just do me a favour and keep dreaming
Thanks for sharing
My dreams are always there to try and reach, as one person once said "If your dreams do not scare you they are not high enough!"
Hope your dreams come true! I just want mine to keep running. Lol
Thank you Heartwriter, it is only a dream.
How could you be so unfaithful???? That lovely Anglia 105E sat in your driveway has served you and yours so well since 1968. Never let you down, always willing to do the Morrisons run or that stolen weekend at Weston. Never been too greedy at the fuel pumps... and now, look at you making a fool of yourself over some sprightly young thing.... really, a man of your age.... you should be ashamed..... where are the keys i want to take her for a spin....
I do apologise, the Anglia is doing fine but the horse I need to pull it along is starting to struggle.
When I first started working back in 1965 I lived in Kent but worked at Harwell at the Atomic Energy Research Establishment, when I was there I used to go to college once a week on Day Release, I didn't have a car but once of my friends had an Anglia 105E and he used to get seven of us in that care and drive to the college in Oxford at a cost of one shilling and threepence each.
The keys are in my dreams as well, I'll meet you there and let yu borrow them.
Yes indeed ANDY ~ Cars ! I have a Brother who is a car freak ~ he gets one with his Job and usually manages to wangle a BMW. I'm on the rota for ferrying elderly Ladies to and from Church so I have an Austin Meriva with high seats ! I've never been interested in fast cars ! ANGELA would like a MERCEDES when we're married ! Loved the VIDEO but I am a PACIFIST and I think Warfare became inhuman when NOBEL (He didn't get a Peace Prize !) invented GUNPOWDER ! I have written to Theresa and suggested we scrap TRIDENT and put the NHS on a secure Financial Footing ~ AMEN ~ Yours BRIAN
I agree with you about Trident and the NHS.
Gunpowder has been around for centuries and was invented by the Chinese, Nobel invented dynamite.
Andy,
That was a fantastic video!
I enjoyed your dream sequence!
If I win the lottery, those “wheels” will be yours...
along with someone else who wants to own some special “wheels”!
~Laura~
Thank you Laura, we must have our dreams.
Oh yes...that we must!
