WELCOME DAISY ~ Thanks for your first poem ~ A lively take on ageing but with a pessimistic last verse ! The structure is good replete with Rhyme & Rhythm. Verses 1 & 2 describe how we all want to be in our Youth and Middle Age (up to 50 ?) and I enjoy that ~ it\'s the same for M & F we (want to) enjoy \"Quality of Life\" V 3. Sounds a Warning ~ Enjoy life while you are YOUNG ~ but ~ \"Will you still need me will you still feed me ~ when I\'m SIXTY FOUR ?\" V 4. is very pessimistic ! Children must flee the nest ~ I always go back to my Mum\'s for Sunday Lunch ~ Friends must die some time (Scientists tell us the max age is now 125 !) My observation at Church where I meet a lot Seniors (65+) is that aches & pains do increase with age but many of the do have a good Quality of Life and they don\'t want to die ~ even though they know they have a place in Heaven. Of course people who are blind ~ crippled ~ very arthritic ~ have cancer etc ~ do have a lower quality of life and some long for the Lord to call them HOME ! My Parents are contented and retired and seek to balance the QUALItY & QUANTITY of LIFE ~ I think that is the secret ! Please check my poems ~ Yours BRIAN (UK)
