An Ode to My Mother

Love can endure the worst of consequences. I\'m sorry for your pain. Hopefully someday she will come to grips with what has happened and make it up to you. Very heartfelt write.

Just Nice

There is a lot of emotion in your poem, Ariana, and you do write well.
There is only one thing that is not quite clear to me (maybe I am just too dense!): You start out by saying that it was \"nice\", but end up with \"hate\". Nice is not burning love. What I mean is that the reaction to the \'betrayal\' is out of proportion to the beginning. I don\'t mean to criticize, this is just my impression.

That was amazing. I love how the emotion changed throughout. Beautiful and heartbreaking.

Thanks ARIANA ~ for another beautiful LOVE POEM that only an ALABAMA GIRL could write ! I have a MANTRA ~ \"Better to have loved and lost ~ than never to have loved at all\" I\'ve had my share of \"ended love affairs\" but each one has made me stronger and I have learned positive lessons from each one ~ and your final triplet implies you have too. You are lovely and deserve \"True Love\" Thinkin\' of you an\' prayin\' for you ! Yours BRIAN (UK) We have a sayin\' for the Girls from every US State ALABAMA ~ \"Girls from ALAMBAMA just want to take you home to meet MAMA !\" For me that is a POSITIVE because Girls grow up to be like their MAMAS and Alabama Mums are all lovely !

I have been so lucky - I had a wonderful mother who I miss so much and super wife who has been a wonderful mother to out three children so I find it so hard how a mother can be anything other than loving. I therefor find this poem so sad and puzzling and I feel for you. This is such a great mature accomplished write about what must be a difficult subject for you. I look forward to seeing more of your work - keep writing Ariana.

WELCOME ARIANA ~ Thanks for your first POEM ~ which will strike a chord with many ~ because as we develop and grow up (I\'m 33 and live in my own Flat but still see both my parents) we are the NEXT GENERATION and this can distance us from our Parents. I am sad that the gulf between you and your Mum is so large ! Poetry is cathartic and it does help to share. MPS is a very empathetic site. Thinking of you ~ Yours BRIAN (UK) Love ALABAMA ~ Nice State to be in ~ very Friendly People in MOBILE !

It\'s easy to say, though it can become personal to some folk: \'There\'s no getting through to some people - or sometimes not\'. Sadly this can include family. A fine write.

Your poem strikes a chord, Ariana. Mine was self-centered as well, deficient in empathy as you describe. Thank you for this very well written poem as your introduction to MPS!
