Very good true words Cygnus. It reminds me of a story I heard many years ago. A friend of mine went to Africa on a Safari and at one place in a building there was a curtain and above this curtain was a sign which said \"Behind this curtain is the most dangerous animal in the world\" on pulling back the curtain there was a mirror!

Your message is plain and well put in a strong piece of poetry. Mankind has buggered up this planet and will continue to do so.

Will humans continue to over populate, die of plagues, bomb ourselves out of existence (could there be a balance to be achieved there, somewhere?)

I’m not very coherent on this subject at all – the whole thing sickens me. Suffice to add that I cannot watch nature films or read nature poetry anymore when I know how fast the lot is going down the gurgler.

The Blue Dragonfly
L. B. Mek said:

wonderful imagery, dragonfly or phoenix
its all just glamourized yearning for an opportunity
to rewrite our wrong\'s and find a FastTrack
blur our path, to:
\'A streak of blue lightning
Across a babbling brook\'
a chance to realign, our path in life..
thanks for choosing to share
and I\'m sorry if I\'ve misinterpreted your message

really like the confident poetic voice
thanks for sharing,
a great dedication, to one of my favourite poet\'s..
(maybe not as a person, but as a talent
one of the greatest!
penned my favourite start to a poem, ever!)
\'Hail to thee, blithe Spirit!
Bird thou never wert,
That from Heaven, or near it,
Pourest thy full heart
In profuse strains of unpremeditated art.\'

Just Dust?
L. B. Mek said:

\'Of such we are made from the earth
Yet, how important, how much we\'re worth.

The bully may feel you\'re nothing but dirt,
A useless nobody,he piles on the hurt.

It matters not what colour or hue,
What’s important is that you are you.\'
Amen!
life-affirmingly exuberant, such a healing read
in this days of chaos, what a gift
thank you! for choosing to share, dear poet..
reminded me of those great lines from
\'A psalm of Life\' by Longfellow:
\'Tell me not, in mournful numbers,
Life is but an empty dream! --
For the soul is dead that slumbers,
And things are not what they seem.
Life is real! Life is earnest!
And the grave is not its goal;
Dust thou art, to dust returnest,
Was not spoken of the soul.\'
