At the National Cemetery
L. B. Mek said:
\'A short day, slowly the darkness is drawing.\'
beautiful Poetry, reading these words I can\'t help
but apply it as metaphor to those gone, but unforgotten
and their legacy:
\'whose short life\'s, linger as a lasting shadow\'
affording their proud nation an anchor
for their hope\'s
despite, the folly of those
who tarnish their memories and sacrifices
in the name of short-sighted
political machinations...
this a Truism
in Dongjak-dong
as it is
in Delville Wood
as it is
in Arlington;
\'War
is young men
dying
and old men
plotting\'

A White Tiger in the Midst of Snow
L. B. Mek said:
beautiful painting, thanks for sharing
but you should spell it \'Tyger\'
like Blake did
\'Tyger, Tyger burning Bright!\', lol
or, even:
\'Tyger, Tyger hidden White
in that snow, steps so light
eyes, glowing focused bright
a predator\'s patience
a hunter\'s prowling, excellence
igniting, posterity\'s poetic might\'
lol
not a bad effort for a wannabe poet

We in the UK have William Blake\'s \'Tyger, tyger, burning bright\'. I don\'t know why it\'s not \'tiger\'. He is eccentric in some of his poems. \'The Tyger\' is one of his better poems, I think.

On the Street at Night
L. B. Mek said:
hazy, quietude
blurring lines between solitude
and solidarity of societal conformity
our steps, evaporate unwitnessed
soundless
wait
weren\'t we complaining, of congestion
a few warped memory\'s, ago
8 billion, we were screaming
of overpopulation
we were lamenting, now
we\'re asking
where\'s everyone hiding, like
at our childhood\'s school yards
we wait
hoping, they\'ll remember to come
back, for us
...

Accidental Poet said:
A very beautiful sentiment for a beautiful species of rose bush. I\'m particularly fond of this species as a metaphor for the love of my life Sharon, whom I\'ve often written about. Thank you for this wonderfully penned piece of prose.

Even if it were not the national flower, this simple lovely piece about the tattered and battered blossoms would be moving. That added nuance makes it interesting and intense in a whole additional way.

The Afternoon at Late Spring
L. B. Mek said:
thank you!
simply beautiful, dear Poet
reminds my of why I tried to learn mandarin
just to read Li Bai\'s, genius
(On Yellow-Crane Tower,
Farewell to Meng Hao-jan
Who’s Leaving for Yang-chou
by Li Bai
From Yellow-Crane Tower, my old friend leaves the west.
Downstream to Yang-chou, late spring a haze of blossoms,
distant glints of lone sail vanish into emerald-green air:
nothing left but a river flowing on the borders of heaven.)
and your words remind me of a film quote
from the last samurai:
\'Katsumoto :
The perfect blossom is a rare thing. You could spend your life looking for one, and it would not be a wasted life.\'
