On the Street at Night
L. B. Mek said:
hazy, quietude
blurring lines between solitude
and solidarity of societal conformity
our steps, evaporate unwitnessed
soundless
wait
weren\'t we complaining, of congestion
a few warped memory\'s, ago
8 billion, we were screaming
of overpopulation
we were lamenting, now
we\'re asking
where\'s everyone hiding, like
at our childhood\'s school yards
we wait
hoping, they\'ll remember to come
back, for us
...

The Rose Of Sharon(Mugunghwa)
Accidental Poet said:
A very beautiful sentiment for a beautiful species of rose bush. I\'m particularly fond of this species as a metaphor for the love of my life Sharon, whom I\'ve often written about. Thank you for this wonderfully penned piece of prose.

Even if it were not the national flower, this simple lovely piece about the tattered and battered blossoms would be moving. That added nuance makes it interesting and intense in a whole additional way.

The Afternoon at Late Spring
L. B. Mek said:
thank you!
simply beautiful, dear Poet
reminds my of why I tried to learn mandarin
just to read Li Bai\'s, genius
(On Yellow-Crane Tower,
Farewell to Meng Hao-jan
Who’s Leaving for Yang-chou
by Li Bai
From Yellow-Crane Tower, my old friend leaves the west.
Downstream to Yang-chou, late spring a haze of blossoms,
distant glints of lone sail vanish into emerald-green air:
nothing left but a river flowing on the borders of heaven.)
and your words remind me of a film quote
from the last samurai:
\'Katsumoto :
The perfect blossom is a rare thing. You could spend your life looking for one, and it would not be a wasted life.\'

The Han-River

Brilliant!
love the humanity, dear Poet
(Peace, however brief
or hopefully, Long
is paid for in advance, by those
who were willing to sacrifice
their future for a dream
some
use weapons and water
their motherland with that crimson
stubbornness, of their dreams
other\'s, like MLK
take beatings in place of their fellow
brethren
hold hands, march in numbers
and word their dreams
so that even future generations
can picture it, vividly..
yet, sadly
\'all war is a defeat, for both sides\'
still,
we must never forget
those who laid down, so we can build
our new paths of freedom
civility and progressive openness
aspiring to excavate a togetherness
from the rivers of blood
that pulses through our weighty veins..
that\'s what it means to survive
to persevere, to dream
of a better!
while picnicking and toasting
those we must always remember)

L. B. Mek said:
\'or a granddaughter\'
(I think you meant a grandchild
of any gender, right?)
anyway, this was a moving read
I love intimate family legacies like this
a bridging of generations
a lovely read, such warmth
thank you! dear Poet

To My Grandson
mvvenkataraman said:
Dear Friend,
Many won\'t be familiar with olden day\'s English,
Thou, thee etc., stop grasping the poem,
You have rhymed with perfection indeed,
But, thou and thee confuse me too much sadly,
As a friend I have conveyed, not to hurt your mind!
