You got a talking cat. I got a talking dog, Fido (imaginary). He appears in poems at times. lol.
We have to bear with TWO cats, but they are very friendly!

Such a fun read, but truthful too. You gave me some great imagery of your cat. They do own you and saunter off too. I love that last stanza. I live with a cat and a dog. A little cat that continually puts a larger dog firmly in her place.

Hey there, my cat was screaming at me across the apartment while I was reading this, how fitting. I have to agree that the extraordinary is mundane at times. Perhaps we get colder with age, though I am not certain it\'s universal. A fine write, and a pleasure to read.

A frustrating dream. Especially the phone number and address of that French babe being lost like that. Strange how mixed up dreams can become. Still, this had a touch of spice about it. You need to dream more often.

Down I go into the gray and brown.

This is the only part that I cant make sense of, love the word play in the rest. Can\'t tell if it\'s cultural differences that I don\'t get the first line or if it went over my head. No need to explain, just didn\'t want to be sincere of something I liked but didn\'t understand fully. Thanks

Nicely done. I worked at the Fair Grounds here in New Orleans for 13yrs back in the 80\'s and I have fond memories of that time. I had my own tip sheet (Courtney\'s Connor) that sold for $2 and I used that income for all my bets. I still read DRF everyday.

A really good poem, Thomas. Some great lines, that look in your eyes, was full of good-byes, just brilliant. My wife asked me the other day what I\'d like for Christmas, I told her, Seedy Town Blues.
