The pills on the table (Part 2)
Tristan Robert Lange said:
Lore, this is heartbreaking because it refuses to simplify grief. The speaker remembers the harm, the fear, the relief, the love…all at the same time. “It hurts to admit / that I miss him” landed especially hard. Beautiful and deeply honest work, my friend. 🌹🖤🙏🕯️🐦⬛

I should have started at the beginning.
I take it the drugs took your dad.

The pills on the table (Part 2)
Paul Bell said:
I think when you\'re the provider there\'s a lot of stress on your shoulders.
Not sure if your dad was a fisherman, which is really hard.
I suppose you must take the good bits out of your fathers life and put the bad bits down to life.
There\'s no great answers in growing up, as every generation will tell you.
Hopefully your life takes you down a different path.

Tristan Robert Lange said:
Lore, this hit me hard. The child’s voice here feels painfully real...quiet, watchful, trying to survive inside a home where love and fear have become tangled together. That final turn is absolutely devastating. Powerful and deeply human work, my friend. 🌹🖤🙏🕯️🐦⬛

Tristan Robert Lange said:
Lore, this really moved me. The quiet exhaustion and hidden struggle running through this piece feel painfully real. I especially love that the poem honors the effort it takes for some people simply to make it through another day. Gentle, compassionate, and deeply human work, my friend. 🌹🖤🙏🕯️🐦⬛

Where silence weighs
Tristan Robert Lange said:
Lore, this poem captures something many people feel but struggle to say… the quiet weight of absence and how memories linger in ordinary spaces. That echo of a name in empty rooms is especially haunting. Powerful, my friend. 🌹🖤🙏🕯️🐦⬛

My Own Enemy
Tristan Robert Lange said:
Lore, this is a heavy and honest confession…each “I’m sorry” stacking like stones in a wall built against yourself. What really struck me was “Even now, I’m sorry for using you to write this.” That moment cuts deep…because it shows how tangled self-judgment can become. Painful, brave, and very real. Well done, my friend. 🌹🖤🙏🕯️🐦⬛

Well written, your poem is very powerful of one self. The poem appears to be a personal reflection by an individual grappling with their self-image and the internal conflicts that arise from self-criticism.

Between the Cold and Hope
sorenbarrett said:
A raw write of misery with the hope of reprieve in the future. A sad write but there is hope and medicine may not be the only way. It is the accepted way in our culture but things change and so may you. Nicely written

Between the Cold and Hope
Tristan Robert Lange said:
Lore, this is deeply honest writing…you can feel the struggle between exhaustion and hope in every section. The way you hold both realities at once feels very human. That quiet wish at the end stays with me…“life will feel a little warmer.” Thank you for sharing something so real, my friend. 🌹🖤🙏🕯️🐦⬛

No One Bleeds for Attention
Tristan Robert Lange said:
Lore, this poem is a refusal in the best sense. You expose how survival is often misread, how pain is minimized, and how staying alive can feel violent rather than hopeful. Naming that truth matters. This piece does important work and I truly applaud it. 🌹🖤🙏🕯️🐦⬛

Where one learns to endure
Tristan Robert Lange said:
Lore, this is a portrait of invisibility rendered with deep compassion. You show that the tragedy isn’t departure, but endurance without witness. The poem doesn’t accuse…it reveals. I understand this truth...deeply, personally. Powerful, humane work, my friend. 🌹🖤🙏🕯️🐦⬛

This Wasn’t the Plan
NinjaGirl said:
There\'s nothing more humbling than the realization that you\'re so much of a failure that you failed at ending it! Ironically, that\'s when I decided that I must be kept here for a reason, and I would choose to find it. This is a very well done poem and I definitely relate

What I Don’t Say
Tristan Robert Lange said:
Lore, this poem doesn’t seek relief, and that’s its power. It gives pain a place to exist without explanation or correction, just as you describe. The silence here isn’t emptiness…it’s endurance. This is brave, intimate work. Well done! 🌹🖤🙏🕯️🐦⬛

Infant and innocent
Tristan Robert Lange said:
Lore, this poem is quiet, precise, and crushing. The repetition of “infant and innocent” becomes a tolling bell, and the ending reminds us that survival doesn’t erase what was learned in fear. This is brave, necessary writing. 🌹🖤🙏🕯️🐦⬛
