i envy thee your lucky find, cuz truth though pledged my troth close to thirty years ago, we (myself and the missus) accommodate each other, whose foibles would appear bizarre to an unsuspecting observer, but truth be told desperation conspired to risk liberating libido with spouse, whose blackened barbs aimed at surviving two elder sisters cause they kept the loot when we got evicted from the family property (initially during the dead of winter 2010, but then gave us a grace period to mach schnell and move out by a forgotten date come spring or summer of that year) and DID NOT divide the spoils, but kept liquidated assets for themselves. Our marriage though far less tempestuous since days of yore still find me besmirched with anger at myself for bumbling and fumbling with one previous relationship (actually the very first heterosexual rapport while in my early twenties - cuz yours truly happened to be a late bloomer) botched by NOT being able, eager, ready and willing to put the considerations of this unnamed female before mine, which role of fatherhood (both two daughters long since flew the very messy coop), yet selflessness learned after decrying adopting the role of lothario and nearly experiencing divorce, but even to this day (and probably even after this wordsmith passes away) anger from thine eldest star student will prevail, though being emotionally smarted (\"Hoisted by my own petard\") and selfishness to appease unmet needs of body, mind, and spirit found me straying from the marriage, which wife asleep in dream land allowing, enabling, and providing yours truly a chunk of time to satisfy literary pursuits such as writing thee and submitting poems, which this Caucasian, latitudinarian, non-establishmentarian, pennsylvanian, sexagenarian and unitarian can share if interest piques your inquisitive by responding to the email of mine [email protected] alias matthew scott harris.

Tristan Robert Lange said:

That detail of kissing twice before leaving really stays with me. It’s small, intimate, and loaded with memory…the kind of thing loss circles endlessly. Beautifully written, my friend. 🌹🖤🙏🕯️🐦‍⬛

Lilly, this is pure tenderness. It feels open, unguarded, and deeply lived in. The love here isn’t abstract…it’s embodied, moment by moment. 🌹🖤🙏🕯️🐦‍⬛

This poem isn’t trying to aestheticize tragedy…it insists on remembering it. By naming specific lives and interrupted childhood, it resists abstraction and forces attention back to human cost. Meaning doesn’t expire with time, and this certainly still speaks. Powerful, my friend. Thank you for sharing. 🌹🖤🙏🕯️🐦‍⬛
