You\'re Disrespect

Ouch! The heartbreak and terror of forcing yourself to stand back and let your child make their own mistakes. Especially hard for a mother/son or father/daughter bond. It's so hard to say NO to your child. I struggle with my daughter every day on that. At some point we have to trust that we have done our best and the rest is up to them. Blessings to you LIA!

Oooooooooh LIA - another beautifully structured but sad sad poem. The Mother / Son bond is very complex and my Mum always had great plans for me and still loves me totally 24/7 - that's how Mothers are. I have always respected her but several times I have let her down but we are still close ! I still haven't provided her a grandchild but she does have two from my Sister ! I am still my Mum's precious Angel. How old is your Son ? The things you mention - disrespect - hard words - separation - "You have broken my heart to where it will never be intact - So So Sad. How old is your son ? You are in my thoughts and prayers as ever - Yours BRIAN XOX

Where Are You?

Sounds like something out of "For Colored Girls". The pain of loving someone who is emotionally detached. Personal experience? Not judging. We've all been there at some point. Knowing that you should let go and actually letting go are two different animals. Blessings to you, sis.

OOOOOOOOOOh LIA - Another sad Love Poem. Again perfect in it structure - balanced lines and perfect rhyming couplets - I love it ! BUT the content sad again. Wanting to tell someone you still love them but afraid to reach out ? Once smiiten (and bitten) twice shy. I would love you to write a poem from the bright side of the PAINBOW - please. Thanks for sharing such a poignant poem. Yours BRIAN XOX

Cold-Hearted

Oooooooh LIA - I've had that experience and it is horrible when Love dies or changes. You have described the situation in your poem perfectly ! A dream - new love is best love - and calling him BOO (awesome pet name !) then change. Rearrangement of love - respect - power and even worse withdrawal of love and affection. Real Men do cry and it has caused me to cry as well ! Cold and belittlement what went wrong ? Staying in such a situation (we were not married fortunately - were you ?) is more than I could bear but millions do ! Love the poignany and structure (rhyming couplets) of the poem - Thanks for sharing - Yours BRIAN XOX

Hope the poetry and discussions help you vent and manage your feelings. Don't wanna keep all that emotion bottled up for too long. We are always here for you Queen. God Bless!

WELCOME LIA - THANKS FOR SHARIN' YOUR THOUGHTS ! Beautifully structured poem - a single stanza overflowing with rhyme & rhythm - I love rhyming couplets. i'm 33 now and things have mellowed a bit although I'm still not married ! Your thought echo mine when I was a bit younger (18 - 25) when I had to absorb all the angst and help my friends to sort out their lives ! I'm an encourager and my experience is that as I get older my friends settle down more and I get a bit of time and space to myself. Hope things get better for you too ! Yours - BRIAN

Nice structure Queen. The content is a little disconcerting though. There's a lot of raw, painful honesty bottled up in this piece. Is this a cry for help?
