The Fallen soldier
dusk arising said:

So noble are our thoughts of the fallen soldier. For they shall never grow old. Here in U.K. we salute the fallen on 11th November each year with ceremony and the wearing of poppy flowers.
Mindful of the terrible slaughter of WW1 I wrote a piece for that occasion last year which you may enjoy.
Soldier or combatant? Or guerilla, or terrorist? The nobility slips as reality grabs and the whole pathetic disgusting sherade which war is dawns upon us... for my brothers in arms are but pawns in a game.

I understand you completely, taking the mask off is difficult because \"the masses\" often need to see that mask in order for the world to make sense. People see me as the center of attention, relaxed, funny, composed, meanwhile I\'m often dying inside. In terms of family, they need that falseness. It\'s sad but it\'s sort of like a super hero.

You\'ll never be happy until you take that mask off. It\'s a frightening thing, but when you\'re ready to, give a try will you? Your words are true. Best regards.

I love the word repetition you used, it\'s a great style. Kind of reminds me of Hemingway. Great imagery here too. Well done.

I like your poem. Some people try to avoid the subject but like you said, why try to avoid it?

THANKS BRONY ~ Thanks for a great \"free verse poem\" pulsating with Angelic rhythm. There is a Spiritual Dimension where GOD dwells. We can communicate with Him through prayer and He knows our needs and sends His Angels to protect and guide us. As you say they can steal your HEART ! Yours BRIAN Please check my poems ~ Thanks B

Thanks BV ~ for a very Dark an Gothic poem which reminds us that there is a DARKNESS in the WORLD today which we must all face ! I won\'t mention TRUMP and his ilk ~ who seem to have no respect for LADIES. There is a light that shines in the Darkness (related to CHRISTMAS) and the Darkness can never ever extinguish it ! Yours BRIAN ~ Please check my Poems THANKS B

WELCOME BV ~ Thanks for your first poem _ well written \"free verse\" poem in 13 lines ~ almost a SONNET ! Your line spacing is good and it gives the poem rhythm ~ BUT ~ It\'s the \"Rhythm of Death\" not the \"Rhythm of Life\" ! Gerontologists are now saying that 125 is about the max life expectancy ! My experience tells me that the most predictable experience we all face is Death and statistically at ANY AGE. I\'m 33 so technically I am about ONE THIRD through my life ~ baring accidents. However I do believe in \"Life after Death\" so I\'m putting my trust in GOD (JAHWEH ~ I\'m a Christian) so I have no fear of physical death ~ OK. Thanks for sharing ~ BRIAN Please check my Poems ~ Thanks B
