Did you forget that we brits were Europeans long before the EEC or common market ever existed. Many of the things you mention were available in our shops back then, As for french wines, well theyve been ripping us off for far too long and now we can buy good quality aussie, south african and usa wines at a good price.
All in all it will be good to be independant again which, by the way, does not mean becoming the fifty first state or anything like it.
