not of silver nor of coral,
but of weatherbeaten laurel.
here, he introduced a sea
uniform like tapestry;
here, a fig-tree; there, a face;
there, a dragon circling space --
designating here, a bower;
there, a pointed passion-flower.

Comments1Just came across this poem while doing some homework and I couldn't help but be drawn in by its imagery. It such a vivid creation, making me feel as if I'm looking at a beautiful tapestry full of colors and patterns. The mix of nature and fantastical elements really gives it a unique charm. It's kind of refreshing to find poetry like this!
