Thanks for visiting ~ comments welcome ~ Love BRIAN XOX JOHN DENVER was born in ROSWELL NEW MEXICO in 1943. His Dad was in the AIR FORCE and they moved round a lot so he became shy and introspective. He spent a lot of time in the Forests & Hills which is reflected in his music. He studied Architecture @ Texas University but dropped out to concentrate on Music singing with Close Harmony Groups in the 1960's. He went solo in 1969 and his first Album for RCA VICTOR sold 20 million copies. It included his great hit FLYING ON A JET PLANE. He married his Wife ANNIE in 1967 and they adopted two Children. He loved Sking ~ Golf and He was a a keen Aviator. He was a Philantropist and supported Conservation and the Plight of the American Indian. He changed his name to John Denver ~ Capital of his beloved COLORADO. He lived in ASPEN COLORADO most of his life. He died testing an Experimental Plane in 1997 ~ He was only 53. RIP ~ JOHN

Very true he was a great singer. With Annies song a colleague of mine and I would whistle it in harmony while we were in the office.
THANKS ANDY ~ Whistling @ Work. Brings back memories. When I worked in an Industrial lab we had a Welsh Boss who encouraged us to Sing @ Work ! We were all from LIVERPOOL so we could all sing along in harmony like a BARBERS SHOP GROUP ! Less SAFETY ~ more HEALTH ! Yours BRIAN ~ Angela sends her love to JOYCE XXXX

A pity Fido is insensitive. Well he isn't really. He is extra-hyped up to sniff out anything swoony, or not marked 18+ if it should be. Woof! Not now Fido, not for this poem! lol.

Bit more - you got me humming Annie's Song more often now. There's a danger I will actually sing it. Meoowwooo! heehee. Gives me goose-bumps, not swoony ones though!

CAIO LAURA : Grazie per tu commento ! JOHN DENVER had the common touch : he was the (COW)BOY next door and wrote & sang straight to our HEARTS as well as our MINDS. He was more interested in People & Good Causes than Money or Fame and often donated his Royalties to Hunger Causes : Combatting the NRA & Guns and Conservation.
