LAMPOONING

Michael Edwards

LAMPOONING

(without apologies)

Having  invented chopsticks

 it makes me wonder why

they never invented custard

oh do please tell me why.

Whatever their mood

there’s truth in the tales

of their scorn for fast food

and their preference for snails.

Leave them alone

leave them in peace

it’s in their genetics

to be obese.

In the hedgerows and

 in  lederhosen

watch them forage

for the wurst kind of sausage

My first smile of the day Michael, thank you so much.

A fine write Michael lol.Might have to swoon at the last one. You best hope I don't see a hidden meaning in it! heehee.

    • Michael Edwards

Hidden meaning? Could be - but only an Orchi could spot it !

      • orchidee

Of course, I never read anything with a hint of 'hotness' or 'swooniness'. Fido my 'watchdog' reads them, then warns me away from them!

Though your words have amused me
        let me please clearly state
        you won't find that cuisine
        on my dinner plate

        From my very first quiche
        to my very last balti
        i'm reminded my tummy
        soon after went faulty

        So bangers and mash
or even toad in the hole
        maybe a weetabix biscuit
        for my brexit bowl

        keep it simple and english
        cooking frenchies call plain
        but at least i'll survive
        to eat it again

I always enjoy your responses - thanks dusk

Thank you, Michael. A little humor goes a long way. A witty and enjoyable read to be sure. πŸ™‚

How's that evening? Cooeee. Aww, I saw over 250 cats at a cat show, a lot of which were pedigree cats.
How can one not like cats?! Awww.

          • Michael Edwards

Actually it's cat owners I dislike - well some of them. The ones who open the door and let them roam and cause such anti-social problems. Responsible cat owners exercise them on leads.
